Hands down the best thing I've seen on TV for years. Brilliant story masterfully told. The cast is wonderful. Any ideas about the symbolism of the cats?

Ugh, I don't know, we watched this and while is was beautiful to look at and the performances were fine, there were a number of "B movie tricks" Some plot devices were thin and stretched credibility and then it all came tumbling together in a final over-the-top episode. I was rolling my eyes by the end.

Depends on how the narrative is delivered, it was not subtle or open to interpretation the way she was depicted in the first scene, it was crafted to encourage a one sided view

Didn’t make it through the second episode. Maybe I’ll give it another shot.

Spectacular on every aspect. I can’t understand why people have so many problems with it. It shows how low people’s standards and taste have gone. Also, this people think they have a right to speak their imbecility

Sound like what happened in Higurashi Gou. When they cry. The story gets the viewer so riled up. No one likes that type of situation and you can’t help but want to help. But oh when the second season hits, you find out how wrong you were. 🤣. Great writing when you make the audience think they are the good guys when it’s actually the opposite 🤣

We watched this. It was a bit silly that it took so long for her to tell anyone including her husband what happened. It was like a 70s sitcom built on poor communication. They could have done a better job.

"righteous in the Lord huh"? Easy for you ro expect somebody who's violated to "communicate" the fact

Very weird take when the show is explicitly illustrating how deeply difficult it is to share such a violating and humiliating experience

I was sceptical about her explanation, why did he bother saving her son if he had been a rapist? I think she made up the rape story to save herself. She wanted him dead so he wouldn't follow her to London. He had been in a perfectly wholesome sexual relationship prior to meeting her so didn't come across as a sex sadistic??? The story didn't fit together

But he wasn’t in a perfectly wholesome relationship prior to meeting Catherine. Did you miss the reveal that his girlfriend left Italy not because of a death in the family but because of some traumatic altercation with Jonathan? The fact that Sasha (and her mother, by phone) was so upset and never attended J’s funeral or spoke to the family again speaks volumes. It has the viewer revisit all those opening scenes of wholesome Jonathan with gf and as a nervous ingenu being seduced by Catherine.
