Watching this is so surreal, knowing how everything turns out. I don’t feel that way about the other Teen Moms. They never would have been picked for TM if they didn’t give Carly up. They gave Carly up bc they were young, in a very unstable environment and knew their parents couldn’t help and would make it work. But bc of the show, they made a ton of money and stayed together. It’s a double edge sword. Everything Cate said she wanted she got… everything but Carly. It breaks me.
@MsJonessss3 ай бұрын
And tbh i kindof blame the show a lil. Because we are unsure if they made any money from 16 and pregnant or teen mom at first. But from watching Kailyn on teen mom 2 she had a dysfunctional household as well and after staying with joe she found a resource that helps single mothers get housing and assistance. People do abuse the system but there are people who really need it and that what it should be meant for.

Open adoptions are guaranteed the first 4 years. After that it's up to the adopted parents. B&T have continued to keep C&T in Carley's life and in the loop much longer than that. Even after C&T continued to step over every boundary B&T tried to place. Caitlin has a right to feel everything she is feeling, but airing out everything in the public eye is just going to make it harder to reconcile with B&T. This all should only be about Carley. I hope one day they can all get along again for the sake of Carley and that Carley chooses to be in their lives once she turns 18, because ultimately it's up to her and she's currently 15, who really knows what her exact feelings about this are.

Carlee wasn’t a toy she was a human being and a lot of thought went into them doing what they did. As a mother you CANT give your baby away for anyone other than yourself and the baby so no I don’t believe that it was for Tyler or because of Tyler. It was a very selfless act they both choose. Over the years you can see that this indeed hurt both of them however I feel it was an unbearable pain that caused a lot of internal trauma for Cait because she kept a lot inside and Tyler on the other hand showed more emotion for the world to see. Either way it hurt and still does. I think they have both went through so much that many will never understand so speculation on why they didn’t isn’t anyone’s business. They did what they did. They have grown into amazing adults and it’s clear it took a lot of work to get where they are today and I applaud both of them. I’m sorry, but Brandon and Teresa really rub me the wrong way. just a little things that I picked up on watching this, I notice every little detail. Teresa wasn’t even crying when she was talking to Kaitlyn and giving her the necklace. I was waiting for a tear to drop and not 1! Especially for the gift that Kaitlyn gave them she should’ve been bawling.. I don’t know what it is, but they just really rubbed me the wrong way

It was when Tyler came into tell them that Carly had been born. You could see how excited they were, especially Teresa, and Tyler just looked so sad, like he was about to burst into tears.
@isitoveryet95256 ай бұрын
Yall just like to villainize them, because you fangirl reality tv stars. “Teresa didn’t cry when I thought she should have!” 🙄 The fact that you have such strong feelings about a couple you know next to nothing about, based on highly edited clips from a reality show says way more about you, than it does about them. You’re acting like it’s not extremely awkward for them being filmed in these intimate situations, when they’re private people as it is. They thought they were filming a one time “docuseries” episode & moving on with their lives. It’s sad how many people still think reality tv depicts reality 😂

@@Courtneybenson907They were excited to meet their daughter, & you’re saying that’s a bad thing? 😂 If they weren’t happy to meet their newborn daughter, you’d be dragging them for that. Weirdos like you are exactly why they wanted nothing to do with the show. Judging strangers based off very limited info, on situations you’ve never had to deal with is silly af.

I had my son at 14. This was back in 2000. I chose to keep him but I did consider adoption. Had I not had my mother there was no way I could’ve kept him. He will be 24 soon and part of the US Navy. I commend Tyler and Catelynn for their selfless act of love for their child. It’s too bad they didn’t have the support I had, they could’ve kept Carly. It was so wrong of Brandon and Theresa to keep them out of Carly’s life the way they have. If it wasn’t for them choosing to put Carly up for adoption, they would still be childless most likely

Wow they were really convincing to Catelynn and Tyler ! Especially with the bracelet thing. Wonder if Carley even got hers. There needs to be some type of legal binding with open adoption !!

Feel really bad for how they were pressured by the adopted parents and adoption worker, they weren’t rude but Dawn was a bit pressuring with asking them to “step out” of having their time with friends and family only 5 hours after birth.. it just feels a bit rushed considering how young they were.
@KatherineMartin5024 ай бұрын

@Anonymous42123 ай бұрын
Agreed that was very wrong Dawn treated the young couple like they were at a cattle farm supplying a purchase transaction this was completely awful I'm glad Caitlyn's mother refused to sign the forms at the hospital and allowed them to have more time with their newborn before they passed her off to someone else, and I think that the way Teresa and Brandon treat them now is absolutely horrible now I could be wrong, but It comes off as if they were so full of it at the time just to get the child that they wanted I mean they walked into the hospital room for goodness sakes right after she had the baby and then once they got her they backtracked and started to try and act as if they didn't agree to this open adoption.

It appears Tyler is more of a real man than his own father because Tyler wants to do what is best for his unborn daughter. He knows Catelynn and himself are too young and unprepared to raise children.

The baby in exchange for a bracelet never really sat well with me. The bio parents give these people a newborn baby...their firstborn child...and they get a bracelet and a bunch of false promises and future-faking from the adoptive parents in return. Once they had legal custody of that baby, Catelynn and Tyler were completely blocked from their lives. I get that the adoption was best for the baby...but the way adoptive parents lie to the bio parents to get that baby away from them...is evil, manipulative garbage.

The adoption agency didn’t handle things well. It was almost predatory, how they treated Catelyn and Tyler. They should have had lots of counseling first. There should have been a trained staff with them as she went through the birth to help support and advocate for them. That person should have had a strong relationship with the birth parents so they could bridge the gap as they were processing the birth. It felt so wrong when dawn came in to essentially kick out Tyler and cate’s friends who were some of the only people supporting them, so Brandon and Theresa could have time. It’s all handled so poorly.
@JenniferHarris-qj3qt2 ай бұрын
Idk if it’s just my emotions but did the adoption lady “Dawn” I think was her name, seem pushy after they had her. I didn’t like the scene where she came into the room and said “it’s been 5 hours since you’ve been at the hospital, can we clear the room out so Brandon & Teresa can come in”. I would’ve said no. We just decided to see her & our friends just got here. They’re gonna have her the rest of her life. They can wait. I feel Dawn did that and made sure to keep control and guilt them because if they chose to keep her then her office wouldn’t get paid. That made me sad for them. They just got her in the room and decided that they wanted to see here and she was afraid oh no I’m not getting paid they’re crying and it’s looking like they aren’t some irresponsible kids like she thought and actually really loved Carly. So she was too much for me. Especially when I know Dawns agency doesn’t get paid without that baby. Money is so the root of everything and I hate it and how it can make people and companies act. No empathy it seemed. The nurses were so concerned for Cate & Ty but Dawn wasn’t infact it seemed like she told Teresa and whatever her husband‘s name was to hurry up and put Carly in the car cause the second she got her. I’ve never seen someone stick a baby in a car seat and strap her up so fast and leave before the mom had changed her mind which I don’t think they were gonna change their mind. They just wanted to spend a little more time with her, but they were so rushed. Then Teresa didn’t even sit in the back with the brand new baby. Nobody was back there with her. I was like did she read any baby books? Sorry that just really irritated me. I wondered if I’m just emotional overwatch or if anybody else picked up on that?

I think the mother probably has a personality disorder. I can hear certain phrases and manipulation tactics she uses just from the edited clips they show here. I’ve been around similar people. I think Cate may regret giving up Carly for similar reasons that have been passed down to her from the mothers’ issues. Although, I do think Cate is more mature in some ways because of her trauma. The mother wasn’t really thinking of Cate’s best interests but her own selfish wishes. It’s hard when your mother is very sick in many ways but can come through with seemingly such wisdom and understanding in other ways. A disjointed relationship for sure. I do think their adoption story is a complicated one, though, and I’m not ignoring that fact.
