Katy did an AMA on the Catfish subreddit and was somewhat active on reddit in the last year there. She's clarified that she no longer forgives her mother, has cut contact, and she has stated that she has no viable charges to press against her mother due to statute of limitations, lack of evidence, and the crime not being a crime when it occured (revenge corn IF the nudes where from when she was 18). It's a really shitty situation all around. Martha deserves nothing but the worst.

Lying about the age so I (her, I guess) appeared to be 18.. once she got caught, she wouldn’t take them down until police got involved with the threat of going to court. Yo! Local Floridian here. So the way I understand it is as follows. Most states hide the identity and or the nature of the crime when someone commits a heinous act. Example, The gentleman was arrested for drug possession and while driving, but the Florida version would be: "FLORIDA MAN BUSTED WITH METH, GUNS AND BABY GATOR IN TRUCK". A legitimate headline I used as reference. Essentially here they'll keep the name out of the headline and only state it in the article. But here they can tell what crime was committed without any issue legally.

I made it very clear I was a minor fresh out of middle school! He lied, manipulated my emotions towards our friendship, threatened to “despawn” himself when I stopped talking to him for awhile. Eventually I gave in(I was a kid, with nobody to go to about this, cut some slack please…) and that’s how it started. I was being groomed by a 20 year old dude, all because I wanted to rp on my favorite server at the time, and now I felt if I stopped talking to him I would directly be responsible if he “despawned”. The grooming went on for months, it got to the point where I no longer played on my favorite server… it was now strictly discord chat. It was very draining trying to maintain my own innocence and not fall for this predatory behavior, like when he trolls to meet up irl and guilt tripping me when I would say no. A long time later I had become really depressed because of how emotionally draining this guy was, and attempted to “despawn” myself. After recovering, I finally found the strength to message him that I was dropping him entirely because he wasn’t good for my health. When he got aggressive, instead of responding I simply deleted my accounts. He had no other way of contacting me, I never went back to that server I loved, because of him. Being a child at the time, I didn’t have my own income or any way to just buy a new account and play again, I also didn’t know about username changing at the time either. It was a really messed up situation, and just goes to show how dangerous the inter can be, especially to the children we are giving access to it! Please be safe out there, and check on your loved ones.

Them not holding the women predators to the same standard that they hold the male predators to is infuriating to me, there is still a case that Martha distributed and received child porn. A part of me wonders if calling the FBI on this is something that the producers should have done. If you want an example of this being a man where they actually lay in to him there's an episode in season 6 called Ari and Lanum. She's not underaged but there's this man who's in his mid to late forties Catfishing as young 20 something and Max and Nev lay into him hard. Also, there's another episode of Catfish with an older woman and young male cis boy who is some kind of influencer. They don't hold her to the same standard to what would have happened if the gender roles were to be reversed. Maybe that can be your next episode to react to. Its season 8 episode 23 Jake and Taylor.

I hope Paul is getting help to deal with this trauma. Martha did such a number on him at a time he was most vulnerable from a physiological perspective that left unaddressed can stay with you for the rest of your life. This is why childhood trauma is a thing.

Love your channel, and this was a great video. I can't imagine being ditched by my first love. I would imagine it the same as children who get abandoned by their parents. You know the I'm going to the store for milk or cigarettes scenario. Oh side note, there was a famous case on dateline and 60 minutes of a kid that got catfished using a random photo. At the time, the victim didn't accept the rejection and decided he was going to locate the person from the photos. When he contacted the person from the photo and she said she didn't know him, he decided he was going to kill the woman luckily the person brother found out and was able worn the woman and police about his brother mental state.

I was listening to this vid while working and let me tell you, suddenly hearing Kennie’s voice startled me right out of that trance lol I felt so bad for Sam during this. Really the only reason I’d be on this ep with Paul if I was her would be to see him embarrass himself on TV, clown him for being an idiot and then dip 🤣 Sending elicit material is a child in order to entice sexual attraction is a crime, so she just outed that on TV.
