When I was a kid they had hook sharpeners everywhere that were about 3" long about1/4" wide and had a triangular cross section with a little groove down the center of each side. You didn't even use the groves. You could get a hook sharp quick and easy. Now you can't find them and all the hook sharpeners they sell nowadays are too big to get behind the tip of the hook

Ive been catching all males, and occasionally a female. The fishing has been terrible in the Ohio River. I went yesterday and the parking lot was completely full. I counted 47 cars. It gets heavily pressured everyday. I was fishing a chug and plug for topwater stripers and got a huge blowup and he broke me off. 30lb basspro excel. Ive got my line broke more this year using excel, than ive ever got my line broke in my life!! I lost a huge smallmouth bass using 15lb excel, brand new, then i retied and got my line broke again.

Dave, I have been following you for years quietly till now. I've never had a reason to bug you. I have come home to Ohio for a month (Gallipolis), and it has been 40 years. Any advice on fishing the Ohio River where Raccoon Creek spills into it? I'm assuming my saltwater gear from the Coast of Alabama will be too large. Bait and hook size would be a blessing.
