Great review! Eric Bloom rocks his vocals. Buck Dharma had such a classy outro solo; he was the elder guitarist in the room, and it shows!!!! Loved all the contributions by these great musicians! Thanks John

Dio paid for two days in a studio and they recorded all of it. They recorded the backing track and all the guitarist played through it and they picked the best. It was Vivian Campbells idea

A really good friend of mine, on first listen, closed his eyes and named each guitar player just by their style and sound. He was 100% correct on the first listen.

Bands of the greatest times in my life- jr. high and highschool in the mid to late 80’s. I’d have given a foot to be in this studio!! This was around the time Bandaid did their thing. Back then every other tv commercial was about starving kids in Africa.

I have the Behind the Scenes documentary on VHS that I bought when this first came out. The dude from Spinal Tap is the documentary host - really cool and pretty funny too.

On of my favs of all time. Rocked out to all the solos back in 86’-since.

Supposedly there was a sign before entering the studio that read "Leave Your Egos At The Door"

I remember when this was first released, the line to buy a copy was almost 2-blocks long! Worth the wait.

When the song came out, I was 16 years old and a whole bunch of my heroes were on it, I listened to the single up and down, played air guitar on all the guitar solos, it was my favorite song for weeks. Ok, the lyrics aren't that great, but the song still rocks today! Thanks for your great video, I really enjoyed it 👍 Rock on and up the Irons🤘

You've heard of We Are The Wold fund raiser? This was just like that, orchestrated by RJD. Hear 'n Aid was a charity record released in 1986. The record featured a supergroup of 40 heavy metal musicians on a track called "Stars". A music video was released as well, produced during the recording sessions. Proceeds from the album were used to raise over $3 million for famine relief in Africa.

After the success of we are the world with pop singers, Dio and a few labels felt they could do better and raise a sit ton of $ for African relief which was all the rage in the 80's. The b- side of the record was awesome with Anthrax etc ...

I don't think it would even be possible to do today. The level of musical talent is nowhere near like it was in the mid 80's metal scene.
