Shows the true benefit of having a boat that can reach and maintain really good average speeds…13-14 days SO much better than the 25-30 days which are the norm for most other heavier and slower boats, great video 👍😄

We didn’t expect the difference to be this big, Saba 50 24 days, Leopard 48 31 days but different people different sailing modes as well so always difficult to compare. With our L52S it probably would have taken us 17 days

Two or more boats pointing in the same direction and the race is on, I suppose it's always going to be that way. Sounds exhausting keeping up that regiment, cooler heads prevailed and you settled into a nice rhythm. Riders on the Storm, techno-remix, nice. Your music is consistently appropriate for your videos, you must spend a lot of time listening to music to be able to come up with so much diversity(?)

You guys own an incredible machine. The space in the galley is enormous. How is the electrical system doing? Is the solar sufficient to keep the batteries charged, or do you need to use the generator once in a while?

Great video, you talked about noise and not being able to get good sleep when the boat speed was faster....was the noise on the Lagoon as much when open sailing?.....I know it would not be as fast..... just comparing to decide where that sweet spot will be for us between speed and comfort......we love the comfort of the L55 and hope it can be a serious contender even if it would be 4-5 days slower
@CatGreatcircle Жыл бұрын
The Lagoons we had made a lot more noise at their cruising speed. It’s more the interior that seems to make the noise or the friction between interior and hull. The second factor is the noise of the waves slamming against the hull. We call that the man with the hammer, and he’s much more active on boats with a lower bridgedeck. We haven’t made big crossings on a L55 but the bridgedeck seems even lower than on our L52. Sitting on the nose even on the short trip the waves were even bouncing back all the way from the bridgedeck to the chair on the nose. But the L55 has other pros where it’s comfort is hard to beat as for instance its seating areas and the additional space…
@CB-yv3ec Жыл бұрын
@@CatGreatcircle Wish I could find someone that's actually done a crossing on a L55......they are so new is probably why I'm not finding more....a broker in Ft Lauderdale sailed one from Annapolis to Ft Lauderdale with fairly rough seas around Cape Hatteras and said it was very nice and not noisy....he said Lagoon had added a lot of reinforcement to the latest builds....we are supposed to go and see and sail that boat....sure it will just be a short sail though.....thanks for your help.....hope to see you on the water some day
@CatGreatcircle Жыл бұрын
It’s a beautiful boat (as well) so I am sure you’ll be fine on the L55. And yes it’ll take a couple of days more but where’s the rush
@CB-yv3ec Жыл бұрын
@@CatGreatcircle Why can't they make a L55 with dagger boards, carbon mast, carbon longeron and carbon reinforcement throughout the boat....that way we could have better speed, better upwind sail and comfort all in one package.....
