Great to see those wonderful areas of the Whitsundays. The whales are certainly around, I get worried sailing at night down the east coast at this time of year. My trick with the mooring buoys is to pull them in hard so they are right below the forebeam, especailly when you have current and of course pull your daggerboards all the way up. We had a crazy night at the north end of Frazer island where the current was 3-4 knots taking the anchor rode all over the place... Phil

One of my favourite spots in whole world. Back of boat diving second to none if you discount visibility (rarely better than 8m)

Beautiful sailing. It would be a pleasure to watch an hour long of GC skipping the waves in soothing music 😊

The Whitsundays are a fantastic playground. About seven years ago my family and me spent five days on a Leopard 40. It is important though to consider sharks and even crocks. There have been some very sad occasions around Cid harbour.

We saw Ningyo in the Cairns marina a couple of weeks ago. Outremer 45 looks awesome in real life. Corals are slower growing in the colder Southern Queensland waters and can take a decade to recover from cyclone damage. Corals grow faster, bigger and healthier the further north you go and the warmer the water gets. Raja Ampat has the best reefs in the world

The visibility under water seems to be very different depending on where you go as well

@@CatGreatcircle Strong winds today, 35 knots. Poor visibility. Better to get a car and see the rainforest 😁

Another useful video thanks, I hope to get there at the end of this season. I'm wondering what guide book you are using for the east coast of Australia?

I am in awe of your adventures and you have become my Fav Channel to watch. I love how everything is "an adventure" or "exciting" and never a drama. I was waiting for comments on Australian Quarantine (its embarrassing and overbearing) and prices (everything here is so expensive). Hamilton Island Marina is indeed a rip off, and if the club was open (its never been open when we have been there recently), it would have fleeced you a few more hundred $$$ and provided little value. As Europeans you would have been lucky enough to have enjoyed a 35% discount due to the EU/AUD exchange rate. Imagine paying for that as an Australian Citizen with Dollars earnt and taxed in Australia.

Buoy knocking hull is a hassle in Whitsundays. Would love to hear from more experienced Whitsundays boaters best way to deal with Marine Park buoy’s.

As I watch this I’m literally swinging into the same blue mooring at Stonehaven bay. Tried to tie the eye if the mooring directly to the cleat to shorten and no, it still bangs on the hull. Grrrrrrr

Tried that too, wonder if someone has a better solution

@@CatGreatcircle When we did a bareboat charter there in 2003 on a 40 ft monohull I was nearly driven mad by the bouys banging on the hull at night, so eventually managed to drag the entire bouy onboard.

Wat een mooie video. En wat is de drone toch geweldig om de omgeving te laten zien: grote vissen, vogels en zelfs als hulp bij het navigeren tussen obstakels. 👍👍👌👌

Very nice video as always !! What is the arrangement you have with outremer regarding the images you provide them ? Is it a contract ? Are you making money for every photo/video you take for them ? Cheers and safe travel !

GLY makes their own pictures and videos, their media team actually made a very nice one when they were on board of Greatcircle in New Caledonia and Vanuatu : kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZ7Qf32hYtWtodk Sometimes I share pictures with Outremer and/or GLY as well. We’re not making money with our videos and photos so no contract needed
