Funny that you mention the stages of grief, as the different stages of the theme are kind of representing Roland's life as well. To give a bit of context, his life was ruined by a human-turned-monster that was known as The Pianist, who incidentally killed his wife and soon-to-be-born child (alongside many more people) before he was able to end its rampage, which is the reason why the piano is a key component of the song yet in most of it isn't following the other instruments, it's doing it's own stuff. The song opens up relatively slow, as during those early days after tragedy struck he was devastated, unable to move on, fully immersed in depression and grief. As time went on, he brandished that heart ache and decided to make it his mission to take revenge on what caused The Pianist to manifest in the first place, which leads to the the second part, and it's the moment of his life he starts taking jobs in order to gather information about what really happened. Following that, after going around, growing more and more restless at the lack of leads and clues, he starts to grow increasingly violent, ruthless, and starts taking out his frustration on several different people, laying waste to everyhing on his path, which coincides with the third section of the song. He no longer takes a no for an answer and moves on, but rather takes the chance to enact his own sense of justice on whatever he thinks that is ultimately wrong in the city that he is living (destroying illicit science labs, annihilating criminal organizations, etc), while the haunting singing bits being more and more prominent are an indicative of the trauma of losing his partner.

Roland is one of the 2 protagonist in Library of Ruina. He was put in charge of Keter floor (yes, from the other reaction) by Angela, but this here is one of his other themes. He is based on one of the paladins of charlemagne and this theme plays when we "help" him work through his trauma in a multistage bossfight. The other MC is Angela and she also has a realization theme. It will fill your recommendations now, so mayby next?

Since people have been talking about the realization as a whole, here's the thing about the realization. First off, abnormalities: the physical manifestation of the unconscious human psyche. Second, EGO, or Extermination of Geometrical Organ is a power derived from said abnormality to be used in combat. Roland tackles 3 things in the realization following a theme: (SPOILERS SOMEWHAT) Tiphereth's floor uses the Mahou Shojo Girls as means of representing the vices of the city he lives in, these are: Hatred, Despair, Greed, Wrath. In the final battle, it tackles Nix, or nihilism, which something Roland has that troubles him rather than the environment around him. Gebura's floor represents unrequited violence that the city is known for. Bloodshed is always a theme, but for the sake of indiviuality: Red Riding Hood is eternal vengeance, Big Bad Wolf is forced roles by society's perceptions, Mountain represents the trauma of death by genocide, Nosferatu represents the ecstasy of seeing violence, and Nothing There representing being a literal skinwalker. Chesed has the whole Wizard of Oz thing as a symbolism of hopes and dreams of people in the city being completely fucking obliterated, but the final battle is noteworthy as it is a duo role of both the Wizard himself and the Wicked Witch. In this iteration they're basically scammed which causes the other 5 to eternally suffer after Tinman made a heart of the Adult.
