The Boeing 777-200 is the initial variant of The Boeing 777 family. Cathay's first 777-200, VR-HNC, departed from Hong Kong Kai Tak International Airport on 17 May 1996, flying to Bangkok. After tens of thousands of hours of flying, on 7 August 2019, it's time for us to say goodbye to Cathay's last 777-200.
For those who are looking for take-off and landing shots, sorry that I didn't include them in this vid to avoid making it too lengthy, instead please visit:
I flew on the last set of turnaround flights of B-HND, Cathay's last 777-200: CX418 and CX419 between Hong Kong and Seoul. In the video, you can see me introducing both the Business Class and the Economy Class cabins to you, as well as Flight Purser Elli introducing the galley features. After CX418 landed at Seoul, I was invited by Captain Darrin and First Officer Lydia to get into the cockpit. I also witnessed the pilots preparing for the departure paperworks before the departure of CX419. Before the cabin doors were closed for the very last time, I returned to the cabin. And on that flight, I passed my special souvenir to the cabin crew and let them sign.
As CX419 touched down on Runway 07L at 23:02 (HKT), B-HND has completed her final mission at Cathay. I was the last to leave the aircraft.

Ken, so sorry for late reply...but thank you so much for this video. I avidly followed the development of the triple seven throughout it's development back in the '90'S, and as I always had a soft spot for Cathay I relished the coverage of the delivery and entry into service of the B772 with Cathay. This actual aircraft was the first 777 I saw with my own eyes [at Kai Tak in February 1997] . At the time it was ground breaking and state of the art. It was a trip in to nostalgia watching this slightly tired and old aircraft gracefully slip in to retirement, but one that fills me with happy memories and excitement for the future of aviation 23 years ago ! Well done and I did actually fly on B-HND CX 904 Manila to Hong Kong September 18th 2001 economy class configuration used to look like this 2-5-2 and if you need to watch PTV you have to stand up because it's only the main screen they show. Before the 2002-2005 retrofit

@@MarcoPoloClubFlyer in 2001 Hong Kong to Manila and return Manila to Hong Kong used to be operated by A340-300 CX902 B777-200 CX904 which is the first flight off Manila back to Hong Kong. That was before KZbin have to take pictures and put it onto a photo album or use a digital camera and computer then have a photo store print it for you.

Haha, so delighted to hear so! I made the flight log by myself and I think I started it a few years ago. Usually, I give the flight log to the cabin crew before take off and they will pass it to the captain to have it filled it.

Go fly SQ for 772, they still have a handful of them, deployed on regional flights (e.g. SQ891 HKG→SIN)

I took CX's A340 1 year before retirement. You should also do that during their last flight but sadly they are retired before their 777-200 and sadly I haven't been on their 777-200 but I've been on their 777-300/ER, 747, A330, A350, and A350-900
