I love our fire & rescue service & even all emergency services! Videos like this just show what they do, how they risk their lives to protect property and save live! Even the fact that this was late at night / early in the morning when most people are tucked in their beds these men and women are out risking it all!

Around 0:39, a transparent figure walks from the left and disappears. This could well be a technical effect, but it does look a little strange.

I watched this unfold. It was a huge fire. Very sad that it has still not been rebuilt, and remains as an eyesore in the historic cathedral green area. We keep getting told it will be rebuilt, but so far nothing. Hopefully, the latest company to own it will get their finger out and rebuild.

Hotels and buildings can be rebuilt but lives cant be clothing and personal items can be replaced. I hope no one died in the hotel fire things like this you don't expect to see in the uk but it can happen here. There seem to be a lot of gas explosions and fires in peoples homes and hotels lately. I just hope they do a full investigation and get to the bottom what happened. No one deserves to get injuried or die in any hotel fires they should be safe to stay in.

No one died.. the fire started in the building next door .. the Hotel didn't burn until later in the morning when fire crept in to the the voids and behind false walls in the very old buildings
