My mother always added raisins. She didn’t bother making a sauce, just served it warm in a bowl with a little slightly sweetened milk poured over. Sometimes we would have the leftovers (if there were any) in the morning for breakfast. When she retired I was still at home because I couldn’t afford my own apartment. I took care of the lawn, forwarded the mail etc as part of my room & board. I always saved the heels of my sandwich bread all summer. When they came back in the fall there would be plenty of stale bread in the fridge just waiting to become bread pudding. She made a wonderful rice pudding too, I never learned her secrets because both those recipes were in her head. After I married, my mother in law & my husband bath raved over her bread & rice puddings. Almost every time we ate together at my mother’s, my mother in law would request rice pudding for dessert.

Omgosh that looks good. Reminds me of my mom's. She had a drawer in the kitchen that she would throw her day or two old bread in. Then when it was enough she would make bread pudding. If l remember right she used to make an orange sauce too. 🕯 💜

My husband loves this. I make it during the holidays with the panettone with chocolate chips. My mother in law makes it with the original fruit panettone and uses eggnog in place of the milk

This looks incredible Catherine!😍 It seems that everything baked with cinnamon is always good!😋 Surprisingly I didn't have a lot of bread pudding when I was growing up.😔 My sister loves bread pudding and makes it on special occasions. I've started eating it because her's is always good. Of course she always makes a great sauce to pour over the top.😁 Once she made one with Nutella that was out of this world!😚 Sorry I missed this video on Wednesday but I was taking a friend to a doctor's appointment. I've been sharing your videos with friends and family and now I'm also sending them to a friend who doesn't cook much. Your videos are so detailed, which makes them perfect for people who don't cook much or at all.☺️ Your step by step instructions make it so easy to follow!
