I met me wife on Catholicmatch. The best advice I can give a man who is using catholicmatch is do not expect to message a handful of women and have the dates rolling in. Unless you are above average attractive I would say expect one response from every 20 women you message and 1 date from every 4 or 5 women you start talking to regularly. The worst thing you can do is to only be on the site for a month, message 10 women, not get a response from any of them, decide the app does not work and quit. There use to be catholicmatch forum and that was what a lot of people would do. It takes patience. Also, for women, it's okay to not respond to people you are not interested in if you do not want to. There is no online protocol rule that you need to reply to everyone. People are gonna get upset when you are not interested in them anyways so might as well just do what you want

Statistic that we have is that 90% of men give up online dating in the first 3 months. the key problem is that women are only interested in the very top of the scale. They do not realize just how selective they are. To them men of 6ft are plentiful - in reality only 15% of the population at best. Most women online wouldn’t give a guy with the national average salary a second look. 50% of men will earn less than this average. If only 5% have the right income, and 5% have the right looks, and 15% have the right height, and 10% have the right intelligence then it follows that women will be perfectly happy with one man in 30,000 and half of them will suffer from substantial hair loss !

@@idkman-c4y correct, But it does seem tough to meet women/ men organically now days with the wake of the me#movement , Men have a fear and hesitancy to approach women, ( just try talking to women at the gym ?- everybody's plugged into there phones ) and lot of times men in the church are awkward around women to begin with -lack inexperience - fear of rejection - being around girls/ women ,not to show interest in women unless your thinking/ discerning marriage. some secular men date for years before Christian men get off the starting blocks ?

As a woman who has used online dating I have to say I am selective though not for the traits you list necessarily. But a statement like that is implying that men aren't also selective on online dating sites. I have to say that yes, men are selective as well. They will usually swipe right on you but most of the time won't message you or will ghost or unmatch soon after if you do message. Or they'll message but not want to meet up. A bigger issue for women is safety in meeting someone you don't know. Online dating sucks for both sexes. ​@@sitka49

I had high hopes but most women don't have their faith in mind when on these sites. They still want a cool guy that gets their juices flowing. I was hoping to find someone to invest some time into expecting our faith to be a foundation. Being a fellow Catholic isn't just a hobby like being a fellow sports fan or sharing the same love for a TV show or musician.

I think at least there needs to be a spark of attraction there? Would you want marry someone that didn't find you a least a little attractive? (juices flowing) And I don't think you'd want to marry someone your not attracted to? because not only is it deception of yourself its also a deception of the other person, let them find someone that would find them attractive - because in 10,15 yrs down the road. and couple kids later all your going to be are sexless roommates ( or 30 sec of missionary every third Saturday of every other month ) - I think if you don't have a hard time keeping your hands off each other in the beginning, dating ,courtship phase I think that's a problem? It astonishes me how few people use this in the UK. Let alone the complete dearth of options for Catholic dating generally in the UK. Something Protestants are far better at....innumerable options for them. Also something that irritates me about CM is that you can't restrict the age group that sees you. I often get messages from women 5 years older and I just have to ignore it....not a great situation.

Sad lol. I downloaded the app now in the free version, but I didn't get any likes... (Now I found out why lol). I downloaded the app because I saw a Catholic couple that I admire saying they met there. I'm sure of my vocation, I want to be a wife and mother and raise my children based on faith. @@BiblicalBookworm Si ee what you did there ;) Anyway, the question was mainly meant as a joke since you specifically mentioned height as a search criteria that wasn't available for non-paying users, and since especially tall women tend to find this criteria important. On a more serious note, I am in this weird position that I am a Lutheran considering converting to Catholicism, which makes dating even more complicated. As a Lutheran I don't (or at least didn't) care too much about exactly which church a future spouse is a member of, but I think that if I convert to Catholicism in the future, it would be a lot more important for me that my wife is also a Catholic. I think that changing from one Protestant church to another is not that big of a deal in most cases, but changing to the Catholic Church is in a way more serious (explaining why this is more serious would make this text a whole lot longer, so I'll skip that). So if I stay Lutheran I wouldn't really have a problem with marrying a Catholic, but I think that if I became a Catholic it would be more important to find a Catholic wife, even though it might not exactly be a "dealbreaker". I know that most Protestants have a lot of prejudice about what Catholicism is, and thus it is not very likely that a Protestant woman would even consider converting. And this places me in the weird situation that I am pretty much looking for my future wife among Catholics and Protestants who are open/positive towards Catholicism, even though I am still not certain that I will ever convert. Wow, this comment became a lot longer than I had expected. But this is actually the first time I have put these thoughts into words. Because even though I have been considering converting for years now, I have only recently started to think about these issues in relation to dating. Maybe that's a sign that I'm beginning to find it more likely that I will convert some day. I'm not really asking a question here, just felt the need to put my thoughts into words.

I was on CM for years, on and off, and I had given up of meeting someone through it. It was worth waiting for him to convert out of his own choice vs. wanting to be in a relationship with me, or to marry me.

I joined the App because it is hard to find a match here around me, where I live, and I see myself having things in common more with people who are in other countries, not near countries, though, and I left the App the same day, because: 1. As a true devout Catholic, I try to obey God 100%, the most I can, and the men the App showed, the only catholic thing they had was the title/identity‍.🤦🏽‍♀ Their answers to the questions asked there were far away from a Christian life and beliefs. For example, of all of the men I could see there, NOT A SINGLE "Catholic" men was ok with NO sex before marriage. Their answers were very "woke" like. 2. They were men around me, near where I live. And THAT (The point number 1) is exactly the reason why I joined the App, because these men near where I am are no true Catholic men, but that's what the App showed me, the men near me haha! I was very disappointed the App just allowed me to keep being surrounded by the same men that made me join the App.

I'm sorry for your experience. Being married doesn't make someone happy, as Matt Fradd and Jackie Angel explained on a recent episode of Pint with Aquinas, your problems don't dissapear in marriage - they get exposed. Jackie Angel also explained in the book Pray Decide and Don't Worry that, regarding marriage, the grass always looks greener on the other side. As St. Alphonsus Liguori writes in Uniformity with Gods Will: "Beyond the possibility of a doubt, God works to effect our welfare, infinitely better than we could ever hope to accomplish or desire it ourselves."
