What do you think our role as laypeople in the reform of the Church?

To continue to carry out Jesus' instruction: "Love one another as I have loved you." They will know we are Christians by our love. ✝️🙏🏽

As a layperson we should first lead by example. Not waiting for others. Set the example in being humble, caring and willing to serve. We also have to have a more personal relationship that truly embraces holiness and steadfastness. Lord let it begin with me. Amen.

Trust in the magisterium and the teachings of the church. Christ knew what he was doing when he established the leadership of the church. As lay people our role as part of the body of Christ is to participate in the church, confess our sins and follow Christ. The history of God’s church is full of prophets, priests, apostles and bishops who were not free of sin. But that never stopped God’s plan for our salvation. All Christ ever asked of us was to abide by his covenants and to follow him. The beatitudes offer his advice on how we are to live a Christian life.

What is the laypeople role? Knowing and doing is 2 different thing, I think most knows the role, but whether we are doing anything about it is a different story.

Thank you for posting this video. I was a Protestant, currently taking a look at possibly becoming a Catholic. I am learning about Mother Mary as she is a big part of the Catholic faith. If you know how Protestants think about the view of Catholics as it pertains to Saints and Mother Mary - I am keeping an open mind and educating myself before I go all in. :) At any rate, the situation that has occurred with the Catholic Church brings this verse to mind: "John 15:1-27 ESV -“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing...." I pray that the Catholic Church successfully cleans and makes tidy the Lord's House so it is found blameless and pristine thereon out. What also comes to mind is a phrase from a Christian music group, called "Jars of Clay" (that I enjoyed when I was younger): "The leading cause of atheism are Christians." I think about this a great deal. The Lord has called us to be Light of the World, not the bringer of darkness. Again, thank you for throwing this up on KZbin.

So glad you benefited from JD's talk! Yes, Mary is very important to the Faith and salvation story. She is also important to the "Christian family" still today. If you have any questions about what Catholics believe, our website catholic.com has thousands of articles on the Catholic Faith and history, this channel has tons of videos, and we have a live show 3-5pm PT Mon-Fri where you can call in with any questions you may have. You're in our prayers❤️

I am a Protestant who is in the process of converting (starting Catechism in September and has been attending Mass). Those issues are probably the last barriers to joining the Church so if you're curious I highly recommend Scott Hahn and Keith Nestor; two former pastors. You will be in my prayers and know that you aren't the only Christian hearing the call to join the Church! God be with you.

Why is CA so silent on this monologue on the critical issues of the last few years: pachamama in the Vatican, priests who have grave sins against nuns etc being allowed to decorate churches in Rome. Fr. martin being sent a hand written letter by the Papa congratulating him on the work he has been doing in promoting the LGBT agenda, secular abortion supporter being placed high up in Catholic organisations devoted to protecting the faith... and the list goes on. We must pray and fast and make reparations for mother church 😢

Dude. The talk this guy just gave is in support of pachamana. He is advocating LGBT, Woman Priests, abortion, same sex marriage, sodomy, .. the works. Watch it again. It's pure heresy and the work of the 😈

CA does dabble into these subjects, but their main role is generally teaching what the Church teaches..not Church politics.

Hey, how come it shows (AI Generated) at the very beginning of the speech when I turn on my closed captioning? Is this speech generated by ChatGPT or some other generative AI?
@zachmaxwell Жыл бұрын
To save money, we use a service that uses AI to generate captions that are more accurate than the KZbin auto-generated captions. I put the disclaimer there in case there were any errors.

We can start by not using ad hominems to attack others. Sometimes we don't hear the answers when we don't want to hear them
