Father Mike schmitz, Your videos and messages have given me a new way of thinking about my life and my faith. I never thought I’m defined by how GOD defines me.. I’ve always been thinking of myself as how others define me. My mistakes, my past. But you helped me realize and truly know that I’m defined by our Savior.. You have personally helped me look at my Faith in a whole new way. I just became catholic again 10 months ago, and it truly has changed my life. I deal with anxiety and depression, now I look forward to going to church every Sunday. God bless you Father Mike. I pray someday to meet you . “THY WILL BE DONE” Jesus, it was your will that my daughter was chosen to have autism. The weekend she was born, two days after my brother David was lifted up to Jesus. He gave me a beautiful daughter, and HE called my brother David who was burn with a heart defect. Thy will be done, you gave my mom 41 years with her son David, who spent most of his life in and out of the hospital. Praise Jesus.. I love you Jesus. All saints day is today, HE is home with our savior, what a beautiful thought.

This priest is really really really ridiculously good looking (to quote him from this video). I am sure it is a big asset when working with teens since an overweight bald guy probably wouldn't have the same impact.

@Patrick Montgomery Falling numbers in the Catholic Church have complex causes. Here are some of them. 1. The culture has drastically shifted away from Christianity, especially the hard teachings on sexuality in the Catholic Church. The teachings on sexuality are very harsh and modern Americans don''t like being told what to do. 2. People think that a Church service should ENTERTAIN them so they flock to mega-churches where they get a big emotional high rather than the Mass where you humble yourself before God and receive the Eucharist. People want to go to church to have a good time instead of humbling themselves before God. 3. The sex scandals in the priesthood drive people away because they don't realize that the human beings in the clergy are NOT the church. The church is the sacred doctrine of the Bible and the scholarly works that have been created for 2000 years. Without Catholicism , there would be NO Christianity in the world. The Catholic Church did the heavy lifting for 1500 years, spreading the gospel across the entire planet. Then the protestant reformation came where everyone interprets the Bible their own way without any overall 2000 year legacy of such research. They started all over again and now we have 45,000 separate protestant denominations in the USA alone. Each thinks that only they have the correct interpretation of the Bible. Experts have estimated that within 20 years there will be over 90,000 separate protestant denominations. So protestantism is schisming itself into tiny pieces. Many protestant churches ask nothing from their congregations, so people love them. Catholicism demands sacrifice, good works, charity, and deep personality change. Most people are too lazy for all that hard work. They want salvation but they don't want to actually have to change in any way or leave their comfort zone. So being Catholic can be a much harder path so people run away to a "feel good - do nothing" protestant church instead. People like Joel Osteen tells everyone (he has the largest church in the USA) that God exists to fulfill their ego desires, like getting a good job, getting a good spouse, a nice car, etc. It sounds very attractive to self-centered Americans so they flock to Prosperity Gospel Churches where it isn't what you give to God, it is all about what God will give to you if you butter him up in prayer. So these people use God as a means to an end, the fulfillment of their desires. Sorry, but God is not your servant. But this is a big part of modern protestantism and it certainly appeals to people. In conclusion, a lot of false doctrines are very attractive to people, so (of course) they will leave the Catholic Church that expects them to repent and change their lives. The entire protestant thing is FAITH ALONE. Catholics are expected to confirm their faith by good works. You will know them by the fruits of the spirit. Protestants have no need to illustrate their faith in compassion or charity. Faith alone means that if a protestant believes in the Nicene Creed, he is saved so he can go back to daily life and be a big jerk all the time. Not in Catholicism! You cannot be saved by just believing something but not living it in your daily life. People don't want to change, so they leave Catholicism for an easier Christianity elsewhere.

@Patrick Montgomery You know NOTHING about Catholicism. You simply believe whatever nonsense was told to you by your big mega-church preacher who probably did not even go to a seminary or theology college. Since protestants believe anyone can interpret the Bible with equal ability to anyone else, why even bother to go to school? You are very ignorant. Jesus assigned Peter the leadership of the apostles. THEY CREATED THE CATHOLIC CHURCH WITH SAINT PAUL. Only your total ignorance of history could allow you to deny that the Catholic Church was Christianity for 1500 years. Jesus created this church as his church on earth. Some of the clergy through the centuries were wicked, but the truth remains there. Protestants are ignorant at best and lying heretics as worst. Jesus is not impressed by people going to a mega-church to become emotionally hysterical for Jesus. Why? Two reasons: Because these same people become just as emotionally hysterical at a football game cheering for their team. Second, faith is not an emotional state. Faith is a deep mark on your soul, and (unless 10,000 Catholic Saints are wrong) usually results in deep contemplation and meditation, not dancing around, talking in tongues, and being pushed into an emotional frenzy. This is not faith, it is just emotional overload. When I see people in a mega-church, waving their hands in the air, tears coming down their faces, and swaying, I do not see deep soul faith in God. I see emotional exploitation. It is that feel good church again that I mentioned. These people would have the same reaction if they saw their favorite rock star or movie star in person. It is all 1 inch deep and means nothing. I urge you to actually read a scholarly book on church history, if you can read and maintain enough attention. Your KZbin comments are disjointed and very weird, so perhaps I am asking too much. Goodbye to you and your ignorant views.

@Patrick Montgomery You know, there is nothing for me to gain from talking to someone who is so consistently ignorant of anything related to Christianity except what he hears from a mega-church preacher. Since you know NOTHING about the origins of the church, try this basic website. www.uscatholic.org/church/2011/01/glad-you-asked-how-did-jesus-found-church

@@ArizonaWillful yeah, I feel bad for the lil' dude. This really isn't unusual for this troll-like radical fundamentalist. Maybe if he just upgrades his computer from a 1982 Commodore 64 that allows him to provide a cryptic message. Ha! Ha! It is sort of funny to hear him spout non-sense. However, it waists our time. He, in particular, thinks that he is doing the work of God. He is no true disciple of Jesus, but his own radical sect.

Patrick Montgomery I agree with you but why do you write like this? 😂 The Catholic Church is alllllll about idolatry and heresy. Praying to Mary and other saints, calling priests “Father”, the role and existence of the Pope (who is an antichrist), all the unnecessary manmade laws and traditions. So many issues in the Catholic “church”

My confession.....The summer before high school..there was a football player who I met in the rain one day....he brought me back to his place and ..me being nervous, i still followed him in.......the first thing he said to me was " Do you want the lights on or off?"......so what defines YOU? Well, if you are going to do it, you might as well see what you are getting! It isn't less a sin to do it in the dark. I assume you found a graceful way out of it? If so, that might prove useful to others. I used to say "I am sorry, but I have to go home to take care of a sick plant". This statement was so crazy that no one had an argument against it. Then I was suddenly gone. LOL

@Patrick Montgomery Correct. There is nothing incoherent or Alien in Christ's words, but there is in your posts. You can try and twist and deflect and give the illusion that you're spreading the Gospel - heck let me go another step further - You're trying to give the illusion that you're following all of Christ's teachings and laws, but you are not being Truthful to the Lord. Unfortunately, sir, you can't make me feel guilty for knowing Jesus and for following His commandments and teachings. You trying to tell me to know Jesus is like explaining to Julia Child on how to bake. Don't be Pride-filled and go challenge someone who does not know Christ yet. Challenge the Athiests, sir. Peace be with you.

God told us how to do our duty at Fatima in 1917. Are priests spiritually mature if they do not promote praying the Holy Rosary and devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary (love Jesus as Mary does) daily as God requested through Mary at Fatima? Pray for novus ordo (novus new-ordo sect, rule, order) priests that they will spread God's Fatima message. In the end Mary's Immaculate Heart will triumph (with or without the support of novus ordo priests).
@ArizonaWillful
@ArizonaWillful 5 жыл бұрын
I think priests are busy teaching the basic doctrine of Catholicism which revolves around JESUS CHRIST and the TRINITY, not Mary. She is revered but Jesus did not say "Believe in my mother and you shall be saved". The belief in the visitations of Mary are NOT sacred requirements for Catholics. If you find great solace and comfort in them, good for you. There are orders in the Catholic Church that focus on Mary. But please forgive the priests in the Mass who focus on the Liturgy of the Word (THE BIBLE) and the Liturgy of the Eucharist (INSTITUTED BY JESUS CHRIST). There are Catholic Churches, like Notre Dame, dedicated to Mary. But she is not the center of the Church. And priests are not failing in any way for not making her the center for you. Instead of the rumored statements of Mary in visitations, perhaps you might consider reading the Catholic Catechism, which will give you everything you need to be Catholic.
