Now if the apostles who only followed Christ for a few years are saints what more His mother, who was there until he breathed his last breath? They always think the holy Spirit is leading them multiple times a month/year but we cannot pray to saints because they are "dead". So Jesus sends the Holy Spirit to them, but can't communicate a prayer to his mother. Their views make no sense when you actually think about it.

I was taught that if you do not have the Holy Ghost in you, you are not saved, i.e. "christian".. and this Holy Ghost is evident only only via speaking in tongues.. not the "tongues" of the NT where it was men preaching the gospel in languages understood by those around them for the advancement of the kingdom, but more like a heavenly language between only you and God. And since death entered the universe through the first man, unless we are born again of water and the Spirit, we cannot, [non possumus)' as the Truth says, 'enter into the kingdom of heaven' [John 3:5]. The matter of this sacrament is real and natural water." Pope Eugene IV, cantate Domino, 1441 ... that nobody can be saved, no matter how much he has given away in alms and even if he has shed blood in the name of Christ, unless he has persevered in the bosom and unity of the Catholic Church."

I wanted to post this (testimony of sorts) here for Catholics who question the role of our holy Mother or Protestants who mock our love of her. Voice of Reason (Alex), if not appropriate please delete. I wont be offended brother Mary visited my family twice two years ago. My child is high needs non verbal autistic and times can be hard for my wife and I; especially my wife who is a wonderful mum. She is a blessing. I always knew that my child is a blessing from God. I'm so thankful for him. During mass in the winter while the priest was delivering the homily, I started to day dream. In front of me was a woman standing in blue with a white veil cuddling a child and she was smiling. As I continued to look, I realised that the child was my own when they were a baby. She didn't say anything but she was smiling and telling me in my head that he would be ok and that she was looking after him. I was overwhelmed with joy, hope and love. I was so grateful but a part of me thought it was just a day dream. That i was silly and it was a fabrication of the mind. The next part told me it wasnt. Months later at about 1am I was awake listening to a podcast. Suddenly, I heard a female voice speaking in my hall way in my apartment next to my sons room. I could hear my child verbalising to her (he is non speaking but they make noise in their own way). This went on for twenty seconds. I wasnt paying too much attention because I was listening to my podcast, and I assumed it was my wife speaking to our child. I pressed pause on my podcast and went out of the room. My childs door was open and he was sat up smiling - I told him to go to sleep and he laid down as instructed. I then checked on my wife expecting to see her awake too and she was fast asleep. I returned to my son seconds later and he was now asleep. I was initially terrified. I checked our apartment door. Closed and locked from the inside. Suddenly I was filled witu warmth and a realisation of who it was. I knew that my son was safe and that he was being protected. I knew it was the Queen of Heaven. It was Mary. I went away from my faith in my late teens and lived a life of sin in my twentys. I had seen hell. I know the devil exists and is cloaked in pride, and in the things of this world that look and feel good. I had a dark cloud over me for years. Sin makes us feel good temporarily. Although it was the past, I lived with shame for many years. I was too ashamed to go to church or to speak to God. For the past 7 years i have dedicated my life to my Lord. I try my best but I often fail. I feel so blessed and I thank god that Mary is there for my family. I don't think I deserve it. None of us do. It is by his grace that we will live forever. I pray every night with my child and will continue to do so until I am not here. My child is truly a blessing from god. In the pregnancy we were told that they may not be viable in the first scan. This was the biggest pain that I have ever felt. I promised God that I would change my life for good to save my child. My child was born healthy and every day I attribute that to God. A year before this all happened I watched a video with the nun Mother Angelica and the priest Father Steven Scheier. He died and was given another chance after our Holy Mother Mary intervened. I watch this video every few months to remind myself of my own obligation to God and the blessings i have. This is why I post this here. If you are reading this, believe me god exists. Jesus died and lived for our sins and there is a battle for your soul taking place every day, every hour, every minute and every second. God is tireless fighting for you and Mary intercedes on our behalf every minute of every day. Never be confused. Mary is not God to Catholics. Mary is full of Grace, she is the God barer. You want her in your corner. Thank you Lord for brothers like Voice of Reason. He will ensure souls finish the race. His videos help me big time. Thanks to those who read this
@marcihf2175 ай бұрын
Beautiful. Thank you for sharing. I believe you. I have never seen Our Blessed Mother but I have felt her presence and I know she has prayed and interceded on my behalf. She is the one to let me understand my son was a gift from God and not abort him. She let me understand that everything was going to be okay. I saw a statue of her holding baby Jesus and immediately realized she was a young girl. In those days if people thought a girl had sexual relations outside of marriage (before or during marriage) they would be stoned to death. That thought gave me courage. I knew that God would provide and everything would be okay. Our Blessed Mother Mary brought me back to Her beloved Divine Son Jesus Christ and His Church. I will always be grateful to her. I get really upset when people mock and disrespect her. Disrespecting her is like disrespecting Jesus.

I believe when people do repetitions without connection or reason as a kid it creates people like this girl, I'm a new orthodox and have great respect for the catholic church, for a time I thought the repetitions to be inauthentic robotic prayers, but I failed to realize I could pray freely as well as do repeated prayers, and honestly the guided prayers like the rosary, the Jesus prayer and the prayers of the saints as well as my own personal prayers, I find my spiritual life has improved drastically as opposed to just improvising as I go along.
@irishandscottish18295 ай бұрын
Repetitive prayer like the Hail Mary is more of a tool - yes we are quoting Scripture and meditating on those words of Scripture (I like to picture what ‘seeing’ archangel Gabriel visiting mama Mary might be like) but it’s also a tool to help meditate on the life of Christ through the mysteries of the rosary. Same with any Chaplet - so the divine mercy Chaplet I meditate on Christ on the cross when the spear pierced His side and blood and water gushed forth (what we say in the Chaplet) It’s sad they think repetitive prayer alone is a bad thing because in that condemnation they are condemning Christ in the garden who prayed the same prayer twice and also condemning God the Father who is pleased with the repetitive prayers of the angels before Him the same prayer day and night ‘Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty….’

VIDEO SUMMARY: Catholic Defense of Truth with Scripture and Logic by Alex 1. Catholics are Christians: - The Catholic Church is the original Christian church founded by Jesus Christ, with a lineage traceable to the apostles. Logical Reasoning: - Premise 1: The term "Christian" refers to followers of Jesus Christ. - Premise 2: The Catholic Church was founded by Jesus Christ and can trace its lineage back to the apostles (Matthew 16:18, John 20:21-23). - Premise 3: The early Christians, including the apostles, were members of what is now known as the Catholic Church (Acts 2:42). - Conclusion: Therefore, Catholics are Christians. Catholics believe and teach: - The term "Christian" refers to followers of Jesus Christ. - The Catholic Church was founded by Jesus Christ and can trace its lineage back to the apostles (Matthew 16:18, John 20:21-23). - The early Christians, including the apostles, were members of what is now known as the Catholic Church (Acts 2:42). - Therefore, Catholics are Christians. 2. The Bible and Tradition are both essential: - 2 Timothy 3:16-17: All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. - Ephesians 4:10-18: Christ gave some to be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ until we all attain to the unity of the faith and knowledge of the Son of God. Logical Reasoning: - Premise 1: Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16-17). - Premise 2: Christ gave some to be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers to equip the saints for the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:10-18). - Premise 3: The early Church relied on both written and oral traditions (2 Thessalonians 2:15). - Conclusion: Therefore, the Bible is essential, but the Church's teachings and traditions also play a critical role. Catholics believe and teach: - While Scripture is indeed inspired and essential, Ephesians 4:10-18 highlights the roles of Church leaders and the necessity of their teaching and guidance. The Bible itself points to the importance of tradition and the teaching authority of the Church. 3. Catholic practices and the Bible: - The Bible is a Catholic book, canonized by Catholic bishops in the fourth century. The New Testament writings were authored by Catholics for Catholics. Logical Reasoning: - Premise 1: The Bible is a Catholic book, canonized by Catholic bishops (John 21:25). - Premise 2: The practices of the Catholic Church are derived from the teachings and traditions handed down from the apostles (2 Thessalonians 2:15). - Premise 3: Catholic doctrines are deeply rooted in Scripture, though sometimes implicit rather than explicit (1 Timothy 3:15). - Conclusion: Therefore, Catholic practices do not contradict the word of God but are consistent with it. Catholics believe and teach: - The Bible is a Catholic book, canonized by Catholic bishops (John 21:25). - The practices of the Catholic Church are derived from the teachings and traditions handed down from the apostles (2 Thessalonians 2:15). - Catholic doctrines are deeply rooted in Scripture, though sometimes implicit rather than explicit (1 Timothy 3:15). - Therefore, Catholic practices do not contradict the word of God but are consistent with it. 4. Calling priests 'Father' is unbiblical: - Biblical references: Abraham is called father (Luke 16, Romans 4, James 2, Acts 7). St. Peter calls King David father (Acts 4:25). St. Paul refers to himself as a father (1 Corinthians 4, Philippians 2:22, 1 Thessalonians 2:11, Titus 1:4, 1 Timothy 1:18). Logical Reasoning: - Premise 1: Jesus says to call no man father on earth in Matthew 23:9. - Premise 2: The apostles and early Christians called spiritual leaders and ancestors "father" (Luke 16:24, Romans 4:16-17, 1 Corinthians 4:15). - Premise 3: Jesus's teaching in Matthew 23:9 emphasizes the ultimate fatherhood of God, not a prohibition on the title itself. - Conclusion: Therefore, calling priests "Father" is not unbiblical when understood in the proper context. Catholics believe and teach: - Jesus's statement in Matthew 23:9 refers to recognizing God as the ultimate Father, not a prohibition against calling spiritual leaders 'father.' 5. Repetitive prayers are unbiblical: - The Hail Mary prayer comes from Luke 1:28, 42. The Our Father is a direct prayer from Jesus in Matthew 6:9-13. - Jesus prayed the same prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane: Matthew 26:44. - The parable of the persistent widow: Luke 18:1-8. Logical Reasoning: - Premise 1: Jesus warns against vain repetitions in prayer (Matthew 6:7). - Premise 2: The Hail Mary and Our Father prayers are rooted in Scripture (Luke 1:28, 42; Matthew 6:9-13). - Premise 3: Jesus himself prayed repeatedly in the Garden of Gethsemane (Matthew 26:44), and he taught persistence in prayer through parables (Luke 18:1-8). - Conclusion: Therefore, repetitive prayers, when done with the right intention, are not unbiblical. Catholics believe and teach: - Heathens' vain repetitions were to false gods, not the biblical prayers of the rosary. 6. Mary as the Queen Mother in Heaven: - Accusation Refuted: The Protestant cited Jeremiah 44 to claim worship of the Queen of Heaven is condemned by God. Alex asks, "Is this Mary?" and clarifies that this scripture cannot refer to Mary since she was not born yet. This passage is about ancient pagan worship, not about Mary, the Queen Mother (Gebirah) of Jesus, the God-Man of whom both are in heaven. - Historical context: The Davidic Kingdom had queen mothers (the Gebirah). Jesus, as the king of the universe, has Mary as His Queen Mother in heaven (1 Kings 2:19, Luke 1:43, 48). - Biblical references: Luke 1:48 where Mary says, "all generations will call me blessed." Logical Reasoning: - Premise 1: The Queen of Heaven in Jeremiah refers to a pagan deity, not Mary, who was not yet born. - Premise 2: The Davidic Kingdom had queen mothers (Gebirah), and Jesus, as the king of the universe, has Mary as his queen mother of the universe (1 Kings 2:19, Luke 1:43, 48). - Conclusion: Therefore, veneration (NOT WORSHIP) of Mary as the Queen Mother in Heaven is not idolatrous but is consistent with biblical and historical contexts. Catholics believe and teach: - Veneration of Mary as the Queen Mother in Heaven is not idolatrous but is consistent with biblical and historical contexts. 7. Praying to Mary and saints: - Biblical references: The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective (James 5:16). Saints in heaven are righteous and without sin (Revelation 21: 27). Logical Reasoning: - Premise 1: The Bible teaches that the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective (James 5:16). - Premise 2: Saints in heaven are righteous and without sin (Revelation 21:27). - Premise 3: Asking for the intercession of saints is seeking their powerful prayers, not adding a mediator between God and man (Revelation 5:8). - Conclusion: Therefore, asking for intercessory prayer to Mary or saints is biblical and does not add a mediator but seeks the prayers of the righteous in heaven. Catholics believe and teach: - Therefore, asking for intercessory prayer to Mary or saints is biblical and does not add a mediator but seeks the prayers of the righteous in heaven. 8. Priestly celibacy is unbiblical Logical Reasoning: - Premise 1: St. Paul was celibate and recommended celibacy (1 Corinthians 7:7-8, 32-35). - Premise 2: Jesus himself was celibate (Matthew 19:12). - Premise 3: Priestly celibacy is a DISCIPLINE in the Catholic Church, NOT a DOCTRINE, and there are married Catholic priests, especially in Eastern rites. - Premise 4: St. Paul was referring to Gnostics who taught not to marry or eat certain foods (1 Timothy 4:1-3). - Premise 5: St. Paul and Jesus would not contradict each other and the church would not contradict them. Catholics believe and teach: - Therefore, priestly celibacy is not unbiblical but a chosen discipline reflecting a biblical precedent. 9. Catholic Church has added unnecessary books and teachings Logical Reasoning: - Premise 1: The Catechism of the Catholic Church explains and teaches the faith (John 21:25). - Premise 2: Early Christians had catechisms like the Didache, which was approved by the early Church. - Premise 3: Protestant pastors also write books to explain biblical teachings (2 Timothy 2:2). - Premise 4: The Bible does not exclude or deter anybody from writing books that help explain the teachings in the Bible. Catholics believe and teach: - Therefore, the Catechism serves a similar purpose for Catholics and is not an unnecessary addition. 10. Religious images and statues are idolatrous Logical Reasoning: - Premise 1: Early Christians used images to teach the faith, especially for the illiterate (Exodus 25:18-22, Numbers 21:8-9). - Premise 2: Religious art honors and remembers holy figures, distinct from worshipping false gods (Hebrews 12:1). - Premise 3: Modern children's Bibles contain pictures of biblical characters to illustrate stories, serving a similar purpose to religious icons and statues. - Premise 4: The Greek word for icon is the same word for image used in Colossians 1:15, "image of the invisible God" (eikon). Catholics believe and teach: - Therefore, religious images and statues are not idolatrous but serve to visually teach and remind the faithful of biblical events and figures.

Protestants don’t like the idea of Mary being such a good human because it makes them feel bad I think. Especially her being a perpetual virgin lol. I think that upsets them because it’s a hard thing to do lol. I think it mainly has to do with her being sinless, they HATE that idea.
@AnctTheill4 ай бұрын
It is not an idea, Mary was a human woman who lived and died. She was not sinless as no humans are, she could have been a “good human” but that doesn’t qualify her place in heaven, her faith in Jesus Christ, our Lord and God does.

@@AnctTheill yes some humans are sinless, the Bible says so. Also she was a virgin she never had kids with Joseph they had different moms the Bible says so. Also all the reformer held to her perpetual virginity as well as all the earliest Christians.

Protestantism from the Old Testament at the time of Moses that is Numbers 16:2 “ They came as a group to oppose Moses and Aaron and said to them, “You have gone too far! The whole community is holy, every one of them, and the Lord is with them. Why then do you set yourselves above the Lord’s assembly?”

These kind of protestants that are evangelical, are more contemporary, they consider the mainline traditional historical protestants like lutheran and anglican, also there isnt thousands of protestant denominations there is only 10, out of those 10 are four denominations, baptist, mennonite, pentecostal and non denominationals which I dont think count as protestant because its in name, non denominational. Heres a list Historical Traditional Protestants: Lutheran Methodist Anglican Presbyterian Reformed😊

Regarding “vain repetitions,” a more accurate translation is “heaping up empty words.” In fact, this is a challenge for some Protestants who go on and on and on with their prayer making it up as they go. I have been prayed over by an evangelical who probably did spend a good 5 minutes or more on me

We have the same pet peeve my friend. Another pet peeve, is the lack of proper catechism. This young woman had a Catholic parent who did not teach her these basic truths because they probably also did not know them. This left her vunerable to those who pick certain verses and then explain their belief about it. She had no biblical knowledge a church teachings to fall back on and now, she will mislead others who are also not catechized properly. We need to do better with our young people so they are not lost and then go out and find them to bring them back.

Brother saw your comment had to respond. I was Baptist my whole life then I wanted to evangelize Catholics I was raised entirely anti Catholic and told every lie in the echo chamber. Uncles and cousins all Baptist pastors and missionaries. I started studying the reformation and then the early church the early church fathers. Clement of Rome Ignatius of Antioch the didache. And found myself studying scripture indepth and all the lies I was forced fed were broken. I debated my own father who was a Bible college Baptist. And let's just say it did not go well for him. He had all the misconceptions as well he was raised on. Becoming Catholic with my wife and four kids this last Easter vigil was the best decision I ever made I love the Lord and I love his church he started. It truly is the fullness of faith. My Baptist side refuse to talk to me but that's fine I follow Christ and giving up myself and how I was raised. To follow him was the greatest decision ever. Trust me it came to the point of prayer and discernment how could I not become Catholic after all that I have seen in the fullness and truth of his church. If you need anything let me know. The piece you feel you are lacking is in the Catholic church.
