I pray for China! They are one of the most open-minded Asian citizen i have encountered...the Catholic Church established the first hospitals and finest schools in the whole world and has the biggest donations to all charities around the world. Imagine what a Catholic or a predominantly Christian China could be to change the world! This inspires me to learn Chinese also because I want to interact with them someday!😇

Catholicism is a Christian faith. Christians believe in Jesus Christ as the savior, one who firstly calls himself the Son of Man and later on the Son of God. If one reads the New Testament of the Bible even without being a Christian, you'll probably agree that Jesus is too good and too deep for this world, He preached the golden rule which somewhat goes like this, do unto others what you want others to do unto you, makes sense right. Plus the New Testament also details the numerous miracles He did, turning water into wine, walking on water, calming the waters, healing the sick, and resurrecting the dead, pretty awesome and powerful yet never power hungry.

Catholic churches in western countries are usually afraid of scandals and keen to cover up things like that, and western politicians usually counting on church support and tend to turn a blind eye, but I don't think Chinese government has that problem. Chinese churches are probably much cleaner.

I got curious researching Chinese religious groups and stumbled across this video. As a Chinese person myself I've only visited churches in China perhaps twice, and I've no idea if they were Catholic or Protestant. I'm not a believer myself but it's nice to see those who practice their religions.

It is difficult. If you just give religions full freedom, who will stop religious fanatics? Like in any other country religion should abide by the law. At first they're humans and not believers so they have to stick to the rules as any other human. You don't want religions to be in power cause they're not the only once living in china. Otherwise is an religious criminal not as guilty as a criminal? What should validate the church to be above the law and above all other humans? "Practising religion" is also used by cults if they hurt people.

My mother was a Christian 38 years ago. Why do you always say that there is no religious freedom in China? My mother goes to church every Sunday and sings Christian songs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday night, but no one cares.

It's a good thing they control religion. They need to preserve their own culture. Catholicism is too much rampant in the Philippines that's why it's also good to remind people that state should be more powerful than the church.

You are right, a state under religious lead is really dangerous. In Chinas case it is a little bit more problematic though, since the church is becoming just another organ of CCP. Shouldnt be a religious organization be able to judge the work of the state with their religious (here christian) values and be critic? And also give people a second opinion? This is not happening. CCP is just forcing every organ into line, that could still contradict.
