According to tradition, St. Gertrude the Great was told by Our Lord that each time she piously recited the following prayer, it would release 1,000 souls (or a vast number) from their suffering in purgatory: Eternal Father, I offer You the most precious blood of thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, for those in my own home, and in my family.

Many blessings to you and your family. I'm a Saskatchewan girl, transplanted to Manitoba, it's also a beautiful day here, even though it's raining. I'll take that over the snow we usually have at this time of year. My mom passed in April and I pray for her eternal soul everyday and for all the souls in purgatory. Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord, and let the perpetual light shine upon them. May all the souls of the faithfully departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

I resonate with all that was shared in this podcast. I've had a great devotion to the Holy Souls since my mother passed on. My regret is that I didn't years before. My birthday happens to be Nov 2nd and it's crazy to me that most my life I gave no thought of sharing that day with the Feast day of the Holy Souls. Now I consider it a wonderful blessing. I have a 30 day novena book to the Souls in Purgatory by Susan Tassone that I've prayed daily with for almost 8 years. I go to many funerals ib my Parish of people I never knew. I pray with their Mass cards that are given out at the funeral. I have such love for them all, and I hope they'll remember me if and when I have my time in Purgatory. This past year I found a podcaster who's podcast are totally devoted to the Souls. We are all praying daily the complete chaplet of St. Gertrude everyday, prayed on regular rosary beads, using the St. Gertrude prayer. He had it figured if we all joined we could release a billion Souls. His name is Alvaro and podcast name Uniquely Mary. I think. Thanks for all you do Ken and Janelle🙏💖

I was in purgatory for an interim period before being born here again, and I was instructed by a guide angel who seemed to know me and made me feel at ease in this scary place, to soul sleep- which I relished greatly as time away from this world. The authority of the angels there can be very scary, and I understood there were different sections of, some souls suffering, others rejoicing, of whom spent a very short time there. Thank you guys.

@ I totally agree with the spirit of you’re saying, because any time spent here on earth or purgatory is negligible compared to everlasting life in heaven, so it’s pretty useless to mention, we have a mission here to evangelise the gospel, and more often than not it’s embarrassing to admit than I’ve more or less failed in my previous times and must come back here to meet the people of the world with the exact same purpose, being not much better off than before other than a renewed vigour to do the lords will, as well as some interesting insight into the spiritual world.

Use the Sacrament of Confession, a good Confession with a Truly contrite heart. Daily prayers of the 4 Mysteries of the Holy Rosary plus Divine Mercy Chaplet, offering it to the souls in Purgatory, acknowledging that our physical body will die and our Soul will receive the Mercy of JESUS and HE loves us and will be merciful to us in the moment of the demise of our body and departure of our souls towards GOD 🙏🏽
@marijomariyadas5505Ай бұрын
Is “Eternal rest, grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace.” another prayer for the souls in purgatory? I mean, in the same light as “May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.”? We usually pray that one when some dies. We also include it after every decade of the Rosary we pray.

The greatest suffering in Purgatory is experienced by those who are unable to face the truth about their lives or are unwilling to take responsible for the hurt they have caused. Meanwhile God is love. Never forget that the souls in Purgatory are already saved. Their eternal destiny is assured. Their are many people on earth whose eternal destiny is by no means assured. They need prayer even more than the souls in Purgatory. The belief that the souls in Purgatory cannot help themselves is a pious but false belief. The only souls in Purgatory who cannot help themselves are those who are unable to face the truth about their lives.
@GodLovesAll-j8jАй бұрын
St. Catherine of Genoa (1551): “I believe no happiness can be found worthy to be compared with that of a soul in Purgatory except that of the saints in Paradise: and day by day this happiness grows as God flows into these souls.” In some popular prayers and devotions, and in some spiritual writings, purgatory is described as sort of a temporary hell, and differing from hell only in that those in purgatory know they will eventually go to heaven. However, the Catechism of the Catholic Church rejects that view of purgatory. The Catholic Church does not teach that purgatory is a place or that those in purgatory experience the pain of fire: purgatory is not a “mini-hell,” and is entirely different from the punishment of the damned. CCC1031

This life has been painful, I resent God for creating me for a life that could not not destroy me. If I could have my life end right now and land in purgatory, I'd be the happiest, most relieved of all souls. I've tasted enough of God's ''gift'', I've done y stupid sentence, I'm more than ready to exit this crummy place. Sometimes, i wonder if God would stop being happy if I was.
@nancythornton4425Ай бұрын
I'm sorry. Sometimes I feel like that too.
@phoenixaz8431Ай бұрын
@@nancythornton4425It's normal for life to have its ups and downs, but not have constant adversity from day 1, and by that I mean my conception. All those prayers, all that begging God for a livable life got me nowhere. Nothing truly worked out. Sometimes you see people who had miserbale childhoods turned things around and go on to become thrving humna beings as adults. You see people who have no faith, who would not think to pray but who move through life much more effectively, painlessly, relying on their skills, talents and they go places. I've come to the conclusion that praying God for a livable life is like going to a dry well and hoping to be able to quench my thirst. If it was to be, it was up to me even if the hand I was dealt was vastly inferior. The strangest, most baffling thing is how easily God could have turned things around at absolutely no cost to him. With a few tweaks/blessings, I could have been a happier, more productive and helpful human being, instead of being constantly in self-protection mode. I don't understand/know much about God, but I do know for me to thrive and be happy wasn't on his list.

Whenever I need inspiration I read about the saints. Many of them you would think should have become resentful or indifferent to God. But it's so inspiring that inspite of the worst things they still shine. I've found a saint to support my vegan lifestyle, a saint who was an addict to opium, saint for business moms... I could go on. Find a saint who walked your life and ask them to pray for you. You are loved. ❤
@phoenixaz8431Ай бұрын
@@desireesilveiraobm God's love language doesn't resonate with me. But you are 100% right, saints are people whom God tried his best, as it were, to turn off him and to, ultimately, damn, but they resisted him until the bitter end. If you don't fall for God and Satan's traps for decades, then you are home free and God can no longer torment/hurt/harm you, he is eternally stuck with you! It's all a game to God. Imagine if you could send billions of people to eternal torture, have a pleasant meal, eat and be merry, and sleep like a baby!😂I have to daily remind/convince myself that God is the good one in this cosmic joke.

How many souls does the litany of holy souls release. There's other prayers too. They have to have so.e merit too. There's one out there that offers up a plenary indulgence that might be the heroic act of charity. I've heard also if you have mortal sin your prayers don't release the amount of souls it says. So those with mortal sin have to pray harder and more. The church we have here I don't hear great things about norvo ordo. We don't have a choice but to be norvo ordo. There's not a traditional church here. I have had nothing but people attacking me when I used to go there. I was even called a pedophile in Walmart from one of the church members because I told the mother that her daughter wasn't bothering me hanging on my cart. Then the same woman called me a show off cause I brought my dodge challenger super bee to church. I was then accused of modest dress on Christmas cause I wore Adidas pants and a Ralph Lauren shirt. Then the one that got everyone's attention is the police chief tried to tackle me when I did nothing but enter the church. I screamed what's your problem jerk. Which stopped the whole mass and all eyes were on him. He looked very bad that day. People say there Christians here but I dont know they don't act it.

There is NOT purgatory in The Bible- it’s the antibiblical doctrine of Roman Catholic Church which distort The Character of GOD. Christ suffered and died once for all people /Heb 10:10,14,18/ Why do you quote a sinner instead of The Word of GOD?! Do you have any common sense?
