That is true except that with the virus thing going on and so many people/their kids doing work/school by computer, they are staying for weeks now instead of just a few days. Our stores are crowded even during the week. Trail heads are parked full early that us locals are not even trying to go any more. Traffic is a ZOO 7 days a week! @@SenorJuan2023 Because the home value of homes in Lake Tahoe especially on the NV side has tripled in just six months. One home in our neighborhood sold for $1.5 million with the buyer only seeing the realtors photos! My 2,200 sq ft 3 bed 3 bath 2 car garage home bought for $375,000 in 2012 is now worth $ 1.3 Million per realtors pestering us to sell! We plan to stay in our home forever as our grand kids nearby and our views were always worth a $ million.

Wow! What a prophet! In the last 14 months with people now working from home as a norm rather than exception, the "Bay Area Buzzards" have moved out of their obscenely expensive SF area houses/rentals and totally destroyed the local housing market. The second home as a B&B situation (use it 2-3 times a year and let partyers pay the mortgage) got so horrible that a local ballot initiative had to be passed (over the money & objection of the local realty interests) to prevent the house next door in your expensive family neighborhood being turned into a Animal House riot every weekend. Like almost everybody else that we know, after 23 years we said "Screw this" and move to Nevada.

I have been fortunate to call this place home for many years. Unfortunately Tahoe is being loved to death like many special places. I’ve witnessed more plastic in the water and garbage in the basin the past few years than I can remember. That is to say nothing of the traffic and tourist crush during peak winter and summer seasons. Locals have always had a saying; ‘you know Tahoe doesn’t belong to the locals right?’. Never has that been more true than now. The erosion of our local communities through a combination of factors is a sad commentary on the state of ‘sell your soul tourism’. No disrespect to the video, you obviously have a love and passion for Tahoe! I hope those that view and visit will be respectful and mindful of this place.

With todays Electric bikes the Tahoe area paved bike paths all around the lake are another great thing to do....I also recommend taking about an hour ride up to Virginia City NV not far from Carson City...Great way to spend a day...Another little stop not far away is just over the hill in Genoa...If your into BBQ i highly recommend Sonny's BBQ on Hwy 89 not far from Camp Richardson or the Y....I do my hanging out when in Tahoe skiing at Sonny's or a little pub and grill on Hwy 50 south shore called Steamers.....My favorite fine dining experience in Tahoe is Fiores Italian bistro located on Ski Run Blvd in south shore.....If your into Blues, every Tuesday nite i think it is at Harrahs Buddy Emmer Band plays the blues and almost always has a special guest and its usually some pretty good people.....Plus its free !!!

This was a great informative video! Thank you. I loved how you kept it short and to the point. I wish everyone made videos this way. My family is headed to Lake Tahoe for the first time and this is super helpful.

Eagle Rock Hiking Trail is a quick 30 minute hike with awesome views looking towards Nevada. Chimney Beach is pretty cool too. Awesome video.

Do you think it would be feasible to visit Emerald bay, kayak to the island, and also do the Eagle Lake trail to the lake, in one day? Sorry if this is a ridiculous question, never been there :-). (We are early risers)

Hi Josh, You probably know this but since you did not mention it in the video... an amazing viewpoint over the lake & area is from Mt Tallac! accessible via Fallen Leaf Trail (as a tough day hike) or Gilmore Lake (close the PCT; for a longer hike; the direction I climb from). Highly recommended.

A couple of my favorites are, The Beacon, by Richardson’s Camp and Revive! The Beacon has a beautiful beach and patio where they used to play music and I love their Bloody Marry!!! They have their own mix and it’s fabulous!!! Revive is a great peaceful place to do just that...revive! Kick back, relax with a coffee, tea or beer & like I always say to, “Revive at Revive”!lol! 😁

Don't forget the drive and hikes up Mt Rose Highway. Both Tahoe Meadows to Chickadee Ridge, where you can feed the birds and the hike up to the Mt Rose Summit. And Mountain Biking on the Flume Trail! (Lot's of other incredible Mountain Biking Trails around the lake.

Hi dude! I loved the video. 🤪 The skit at 1:28 is so dope. You should most definitely team up with Bad Friends! Their vlogs low-key are like Nelk Boys and Mike Majlak! They are this chill team of friends on KZbin and they straight up get turnt on KZbin! Go see their channel out and give him a like! 👉 #BadFriendGoals

Yeah…, Emerald Bay is cool but I don’t think I’ll be taking a boat there again unless it’s a big one. Too many drunk friends and choppy water.

Restaurants would include Lone Eagle Grill on the lake near The Hyatt casino off Lake Shore drive. Pricey but worth it.

california state law dictates that no individual shale experience fun in, on, or around the lake of tahoe you may look from the highway, but only for a moment, any longer than 1 moment will start with a fine of $100 and for every minute and second afterwards $100 and 75 cents respectively these rules will also be enforced at yosimite and the great high speed rail station - make sure you have your vaccination record and smog certificate on hand and ready to show to a peace officer at all times - have fun !
