You guys are so great wirh your kids and teaching them about creation. I was a kid in the early 60's when we tent camped in Yosemite and there was plenty of water. Mirror Lake was beautiful then and the kids at the campground used to call out "Elmer" who was supposed to be some bear. Never been back since. Everything was much simpler and more abundant back then.

Oh the memories of herding our twins through nature 🤣. It's definitely a different trip with toddlers versus before, but you get to experience Yosemite through from a much different perspective. Tunnels, rock throwing, squirrels, and pinecones....sounds like the perfect trip!

Pretty cool sunrise despite the smoke! Kids more excited about the squirrel rather than the deer LOL. There will be a time you give them Christmas or Birthday gifts and they will be more interested in the boxes, rather than the content. Great you two are making memories the twins will cherish in years to come. The twins are adorable BTW.

Josh, I love your channel, and this video with your beautiful family, ya picked a tough time to go with all the smoke, I hope you make it back there with the family in 2023, you might try May or June this year due to all the snow and water this year and you won’t have any smoke. And if you are up there you might check out tuolumne meadows about an hour up the road from Yosemite , beautiful hiking and wonderful rivers, and I love seeing your twins grow up,

Yosemite is my favorite National Park as well. We spent 30+ years in California only about 4 hours from Yosemite. We would leave at 4am in the morning to drive to Yosemite and arrive in time to have breakfast at 8am. Such good memories of taking our kids there. Our son was about the same age as the twins his first time to Yosemite. We’ve spent many a summer vacation at Yosemite. You two are such great parents. Your kids should absolutely love hiking and taking trips to the woods. I’m sorry that Yosemite falls was all dried up :’(. That makes me sad. Your twins are so cute. Hope you continue to take them on adventures like this one. As grandparents of 8 - we loved watching the interactions with the twins.

Sentinel bridge is great for sunset. Looks like sunny and Jack had a great time. They are getting so big! Mirror lake is more like a puddle most of the time anyway. Not surprised that if bridal veil and Yosemite falls are dried up that it was dried up. Yosemite is such a great place for families. Yosemite falls loop is so wonderful. I’ve been there in winter, spring and summer. My fav time is spring when the waterfalls are gushing. But it’s nice to go when glacier point is open which is usually summer or fall. Also Yosemite’s high country is stunning along tioga road

Cuteness overload!!!!…. Fun story: last year when we went to Yosemite, we encounter a female bear at sentinel beach. It got just a few feet from some people eating on one of the tables. They screamed like crazy. The bear ran our way, but then started to walk super chill and just passed by us. We had our husky with us. Thank goodness he was cool and didn’t go crazy. Crazy adventure!!

Great video!! Some of my favorite spots that I can’t wait to take my little to is Tenaya Lake, and about an hour outside of Yosemite proper is Groveland(?) That’s a trip on its own. Evergreen Lodge is awesome. Their sister resort there Rush Creek Lodge also looks nice. Haven’t stayed there but they have the best sandwiches I’ve ever had in my life, especially the trout sandwich, and a bus that goes into Yosemite. Just a couple of miles away is Hetch Hetchy reservoir with a nice trail to hike, probably for slightly older kids. Nice waterfall if you are early enough into summer or in late spring to catch it at its peak flow. 😊

Your trip with your little ones had me smiling the whole time. We used to love traveling with our daughter. Now she is a teenager, who is less than enthused to go anywhere and more enthralled to be on her phone. I notice that smoke makes for incredible surreal looking sunrises and sunsets. Your videos are always so informative and makes me want to get out and travel. Just wondering, have you done any travel videos to Nevada? We traveled it a few years ago. Lots of cool old historic ghost towns and Great Basin National Park is awesome. We even went opal mining.

It's fun to take kids places to see their reactions. However any toddler under 3 won't remember anything about the trip when they grow up, unless you show them photos. Even then they won't remember going to that place, you only have the photo to prove it. I always tell friends to wait until 6 or 7yrs old before spending a wad of money on a trip. Kids typically start remembering better at that age. To each their own, but just some food for thought on trip expenses, and the long term value.
