Yeah, I feel you when it comes to getting up early in the morning when it's still dark for skating. I haven't been able to stretch before my private lessons recently because I either just rushed to the rink from work or after teaching kids how to skate. I have to get up early now one day on the weekend because I'm teaching Learn to Skate lessons at the rink where my sister and I first learned to skate many years ago. I was inspired by my private coach and how kind of a coach she is, so I'm glad I found a place where I can gain experience coaching skating. I do have to agree with you that working in corporate (I do too) and being an athlete is a tough one and you don't get to spend many nights in. Good luck with the new program by the way! I'm competing next month for the first time in 5 years!

im sorry if this is too invasive of a question so please feel free to ignore it if you don’t want to answer, but i’m curious how much you pay for Caitlin Weaver’s time/choreography? I’m a new viewer of yours and was like WHAT?! when you said you were working with her 😅 amazing vlog and great skating! congratulations on a good recovery period so far ❤

As an ex professional figure skater. When you are planning on quitting competitive to start a family. Slowwwww dowwwn YEARS prior or you will shock your body and have a ton of issues. It happened to me and every single of of my friends that also skated professionally.

I cant. 6 am is too early for me. I know that once i finish my basics and start freestyle classes i will have to drag myself out the bed but right now, not happening. Also, OMG, Kaitlyn.

You got this!! I know 6 AM sounds like not a very pleasant thing but I think once you start becoming consistent, your body circadian rhythm adapts and it becomes easier and easier to be an early riser!

Hello , i am 21 and i want to start figure skating . I did 5 years of rollerblade and i know how to stop, glide on one feet, swizzle forward and backward slowly. Is it a realistic goal in my situation to do an axel jump in less than a year if i do two/ three ice skating session per week and 3 off ice session? Do you think it is possible for me to do intermidiate level competition further down the line? Or learn more difficult jumps? Thank you for your time 😊
