Not easy to sing in Welsh if you don’t speak it.Myfanwy is a song composed by Dr Joseph Parry from Merthyr Tydfil in 1875 and Donny Osmond’s family have been connected to Merthyr Tydfil since the 1500’s.His great great great grandfather on his late mother’s side was a surgeon in the Cyfarthfa Iron Works saving many lives.So in a way Donny Osmond was coming home.

A beautiful and musically talented young lady from the Cardiff area drew my attention to this song about 2 years ago.Sadly, we are no longer in touch, but I get a lump in my throat whenever I listen to Myfanwy. His family is from Merthyr Tydfil in Wales. He filmed this concert at Cyfarthfa Castle for a show called "Donny Comes Home", which aired on TV and audio was streamed online. He learned this song to honor his heritage.

joseph Parry lived in an Ironworkers cottage inside the grounds of the Castle.The Osmonds ancestors also came from Merthyr.This night was a terrible storm but the music was great....
