I don't practice my stories "out loud", I do them in my head. I imagine myself on a live stage, and I play the scene out in my mind over and over, until I KNOW IT! Works like a charm!

Some good tips. Thanks Cat. Love the idea about 'Answer a question'. I hope I can be as relaxed and natural as you.

I love these tips! I am entering the public speaking and blogging arena at the same time and this video is extremely helpful. Thank you!

One of the beautiful things about your presentations is that they are fluid and conversational. Speaking of stories … I once fell over while clipped in at a very busy university intersection between classes. There were so many well meaning people who rushed to my aid but as the number grew, so did my level of embarrassment. I was tired and not prepared for the red light. Which leads me a proposed tip numero siete - Be prepared. That always increases confidence and confidence is key. Great stuff! Cheers!!

I was taught by Harv Eker to create the content and if you know the content it flows much easier. I have never used a script and recently tried bullet points and realized that eye contact is more important. I especially encourage my audience to interrupt me with a question since it is fresh on their mind.

I'm watching the replay and I'm glad you didn't cut out the Q&A portion and left it all in. I find the Q&A very interesting once your main content is complete.

I actually did trim it, but it takes some time to process. So I'm glad you caught it before it updated 😉 Thanks for the feedback about the Q&A portion. I may try to find a way to have it accessible.

I've worked for people who have used 80-plus slide PowerPoints as verbatim scripts. Deadly...zero audience engagement, zero eye contact, and 100% no reason to present verbally--just send the audience the document as a PDF to read on their own. I use PowerPoints for bullet-pointed topics--and use PPT slides as a LAUNCH PAD to use my own words, naturally, while engaging the audience directly.

💯 Slides support the speaker, not the other way around!

Very good presentation. Do you do toastmasters or have done toastmasters in the past.

I attended a couple of sessions about 15 years ago but didn't stick with it.
