While "Princess Prom" is probably the first truly great episode of the show in my opinion, "The Promise" is the first of a series of episodes that really are on a yet another level. Glad to be watching!

When watching seasons 2 & 3, you should keep in mind that they are really just one 13 episode season that got cut into two mini seasons, and they are structured as a full 13 episode season.

i don't think i'll ever stop being in awe of just how rewatchable this series is. not only are the later seasons just amazing in their own right, but they're written in a way that makes a lot of stuff in s1 hit SO different and it just elevates the whole damn series. like how everything that comes out of light hope's mouth in episode 12 is kind of terrifying after watching s4

Ah, another Catra enjoyer. I really watched the show for her and I was not disappointed. Prepare for pain though. :) I wouldn't describe seasons as "bad" or "worse", it's more like the first season is a lot of world building and setup and that's always a little slow. But also it looks like you're grasping the significant things and moments faster than me and probably others on their first watch, so I think you're doing well and it definitely makes this reaction series very enjoyable. Glad you're doing this.

when u realise that adora was the one to originally make the promise to catra (presumably after catra was just mistreated considering she was hiding and crying) but when catra says the same words to adora at the end of episode 2, adora disregards it... it makes sense that she would considering the context but damn thats gotta hurt catra....

The Promise is really so damn heartwrenching, hurts my heart every time! I love that you said it might become one of you comfort shows, because I know it absolutely is for many people (the last season of the show is definitely one of my comfort watches as well, only second to the final season of Korra!). Loved your reaction to this, your thoughts and obviously as usual how invested you get, big props too for your stellar editing, can't be easy to fit so many episodes in one video (and the pre-season finale montage is as always excellent) but you make it work beautifully! 🤘

I love this last set of episodes. EP 11 in particular is TOP 5 of this show for me, I cried watching it the first time, seeing kids suffer emotional-physical abuse is just a giant NO-NO for me, both Catra and Adora were abused, Catra was more obvious, but Adora's was manipulation since Shadow Weaver made her feel responsible for anything Catra did and blackmailed her with killing her. I was satisfied when Catra took SW out, bitch deserved it. You can tell they took inspiration from ATLA and LOK but who doesn't? At least they made an original storyline and not just copy-paste. I feel Noelle probably told the producers for the finale: WE'RE MAKING IT GAY AND WE'RE MAKING IT BIG 😂😂😂. Already waiting for S2 and of course S3.

Ep 11 is a masterpiece, it really is emotional, visually gorgeous, amazing music, meaningful twists and dialogue, deeper character dynamics, and just perfectly directed. Oh yeah, both are heavily abused and Catra suffers the most. And yes! Such a crowd pleaser moment, loved it. Oh yeah, conceptually the influence is there (also Star Wars I would say), but it has such a fresh an original spin to it that it's the way they execute the character dynamics that makes the show stand out! Hahahahahaha and wow did they nail it, it was visually beautiful! Can't wait to bring more for sure, really enjoying this story 🙌
