I think a large problem with the visual awkwardness of this film is that the characters themselves feel entirely seperate from the set/physical objects/ground/landscape, they never really seem to make contact and appear to be sliding.there’s many other problems but…

There all just chanting at once. You get no read on their individual voices and personalities like in the original. But of course they decided to have some of the biggest roles played by people who can’t sing and barely dance so I guess they had to cover that up.

At the time of the release of this wonderful film the most part of audience simply did not grow up culturally to understand it. The high expectations and conservatism of the fans of the classic theatrical production, which is in the 1998 film, also worked. Tom Hooper and his team perfectly adapted the musical to the stylistic of cinema. It was a brilliant idea to make Victoria the main character who logically connects almost all the numbers. And only idiots could nominate Francesca Hayward for the Golden Raspberry. She played her part brilliantly.
