I build a second story balcony for my cats. They love being able to step outside anytime they want and look at everything going on below them.

Oh my goodness your cats are so lovely and they enjoy this balcony so much you can just tell. The benefits to their mental health must not be underestimated. I think they most likely sleep better and are more relaxed in general .

I did it! I upgraded from the 2' x 3' kennel to a 7' x 2' x 2' catio made from 2x2s that spans the width of my patio door, and the cats *LOVE* it!! You are so right -- the catio significantly reduced the door dashing and quarreling. The cats enjoy bird watching, chipmunk watching, sunbathing. Thank you for motivating me. ❤

I'm in love with all you doing for your cats. My mom have passed away 3 months ago and now I have 2 adult cats from mom but too I've a one big adult dog and I wish they can be friends *cats arent with me yet*. So, I think what can I do for all of them could be together in one small apartment. I'm inspired by your videos and I hope I can make it something like you. Big hugs from Russia.

You are terrific at this cats get bored you’re correct if a person has it once a cat he must realize they need that sort of thing or a cat run where they don’t have to touch the floor etc. etc. they get bored. And the balcony that people like to go on the balcony yes, that’s true especially if they’re depressed and they jump off the balcony that’s even better yet.!

Thanks so much for the ideas. I know just how to put one of these up despite not having an upstairs. I have a work table outside on my back porch which is great since I am a renter. I am going to make an cat enclosure to walk out onto. And situate a cat door board in the kitchen window above the work table. The idea is to make a support over the work table to slide it under and then slide it out when I want to use the table for working on. I also grow plants on the work table and those can live atop the cat window enclosure. Awesome. She will love this!

I have 3 cats and at first I was afraid to let them out. I was afraid they might run away and not come back. Then I got tired of chasing them back to the house. I finally decided to let them go and do their thing. Every meal, I call them like you do with dogs and everyone is laughing how I treated them. Now, they all go 🏡 on their own. Well, at least 2 of them do. My wild one I have to look and call aloud once in awhile. But she replies to my call every time.

I wonder if you have any ideas for a modified version of this for a renter? I can’t do an outside bracket, so I’m imagining a build that’s similar in function to a window A/C, using the strong points of the window and frame to reinforce it

Why don’t you try sells it at the swap meet. But it’s adjustable for window and you can still close the window on the bracket that hold it up. Now cat got popular after Covid they seen tube and wanted one. I get so many girls saying I wish I could walk my cat on a leash

But make it screw on the L bracket. They was this guy here showing how do install a 5,000 btu from the inside I told him should add a screw someone might bump it. And this yr I was watching opps utube and they are a teen having fun and a girl knock out that ac leaning on it, even at the top window was holding it in. Was funny but same ac. LOL

Why do people have house cats ? If you don’t have a garden don’t have a cat. They’ve meant to roam around and explore. And as long as your cats up to date with inoculations and flea/worm treatments then they will be fine.

At one time I could do the outside-all-day thing with my pets, but now that coyotes roam our neighood, everyone here has had to change that and keep our pets safe inside. Catios and little safe boxes like this have become popular. I love this small one as a solution to my kitchen window, I know it would be a great cat place!

Love it …. I used pet screen so the bugs won’t come in. I had lattice on 2’ of bottom of catio to keep raccoons out. Will they get their paws stuck in wire. ❤
