I feel so sorry for all the actors and dancers in the movie. They play well, sing good, and dance (and move) perfectly (videos from rehearsals are especially interesting). But strange decisions of producers completely erased all this :(

@@OssamabinKenny Long story short, Tom Hooper is a hack who got lucky with Les Miserables. He tried to make a MUSICAL about SINGING CATS more "grounded". He missed the point of CATS and tried to insert some plot while the musical is more about a spectacle than story. Instead of making singers and orchestra go together, he insisted on singers being "the lead", and orchestra just follow their made up rhythm. As the result, singing and music isn't 100% synchronised. Tom also had the great idea of not using CGI suits to not hinder actors, which spiked up the amount of work for Special Effects. Also, what's the point of paying up celebrities, if they're not recognisable in the movie? Let's make character models with human faces and furry (mostly naked) bodies. The mongo jerry and rumple teaser song is literally in 3 4ths when it is supposed to be in 4 4ths.. and also the gumbie cat song is supposed to be slow when it talks about what happens when it’s sleeping and fast when it talks about what’s happening when the gumbie cat when it is awake. But sadly they let the actor have to much freedom so the person who played the gumbie cat did it wrong 😩😩😩 watch the Broadway 🎭 version if you want it to be better because TRUT ME IT IS!

Fun fact: Amblimation, former subsidiary of Amblin Entertainment for animated films, actually pitched an idea for Cats as an animated musical. Interestingly, I think this is the song most let down by its visuals, because its mixing and pacing is actually pretty spot on. Songs like Bustopher Jones or Jennyanydots were never going to work because the people making the songs were just not the right people, but here, it speeds up and slows down when it's meant to, the correct emphasis is placed, Macavity comes in at the right time and tbh the decision to make Bombalurina a full-on henchwoman is a pretty solid one. But my _god_ it is just impossible to take seriously when you look at how awful everyone looks!

And Macavity is on his last life (assuming he has died eight times but has been brought back with his powers). Macavity will stop at nothing to get what he wants. And the reason his powers started fading during the end of the movie is because Macavity has run out of time. Macavity will probably starve, dehydrate, and eventually he will die. Even if he tried jumping he would die. Because I’ve never seen a cat that can jump from that high. But if Macavity does survive. I could see him still trying to get to the heavyside layer. While also trying to regain his powers.

The only good thing about this movie is the songs not the full on musical numbers but the soundtrack just only without the scenes. But as someone who loves movies I have seen the entire movie yes it not good but I would not use the word awful because it was attempted and we all should respect everyone who work on this I know I know it is bad to many of you I can understand.
