Perfecting GTA IV (With Mods)

Thank you for this information. The GTA IV Downgrader was the missing part of the puzzle for me. I always wondered how to make the Rockstar launcher stop forcing my files back to vanilla. I never knew I needed to downgrade.

It will still try to make you upgrade so you need to download Rundate.

The correct way to avoid that is actually to use the game's built in modloader, as we now know.

One of my favorite edits to GTA is to make a day 3 1/2hrs long. It is way, way, way better that way, and feels more immersive. Things like rainy days and sunsets last much longer too. As far as playtime goes it's long enough that it feels like a really long time but not so long that it's not doable. If you play the game for an hour and a half your character operates for almost half a day, that seems like a reasonable breakdown of time, I don't know why Rockstar doesn't do it that way by default

@@howdymista2299 Hilarious, since the word "tedious" seems to imply repitition or redundancy. Again, this is really not difficult to understand. 24hrs is kind of a long time to be up, yeah? Three hours is kind of a long time to play one video game. - If you play GTA for less than an hour, your time is yours, but let's face it, you might as well not even bother. Despite some short missions, generally speaking it's not designed to be played that way, it's not a mobile game - and if you do play it that way, why should you even care about the day/night cycle? It's not like it matters to anything you're doing. It's not Animal Crossing, or whatever game exists where the time of day makes any real difference. And notice in most of those games it's the actual time of day that makes the difference, not pretend time. So no I don't think something that has no bearing at all on gameplay can be "tedious asf"

I'm so happy that for once, there's a mod that upgrades visuals while still keeping the tone of GA 4 intact. Usually mods make everything look like TBOGT and it doesn't work well with the main game.

The Simple Traffic Loader(STL) might spawn vehicles on the street that never spawned normally but you should also know that it will make the game forget that there are other vehicles which will just stop spawning except whatever is in your ini or txt file's list.

These are exactly the sort of GTA IV mods I've been looking for. Normally when you look up GTA mods for any game in the series all you end up with are "CAR MODS ULTIMATE CAR MOD HOW TO INSTALL CARS CUSTOM CAR MODELS REAL CARS 2022 OMG CARS CARS CARS" and the odd "HYPER REALISTIC ENB (makes your game run like a power point presentation but who cares)" . Of course I am paraphrasing when I use those titles, but it shouldn't be difficult to see what I'm talking about. Kudos to catsmackaroo for videos like this; having to seperate the wheat from the chaff in mod sites is an experience that puts one off of modding their game in the first place.

When you max out the traffic density even with the simple traffic loader you may get a lot of taxis, or repeating cars, or car texture failing to load or cars popping in near you, or even crash. Have you had any solutions around this?

Using maxed out traffic density isn't good for the game, it's 1. not even realistic, and 2. yeah it results to game engine limitations like that. Just use something low like 38 (which is the console equivalent too iirc)

What if i have installed potential grim and Liberty rush at the same time and i want to install Various Pedestrians Actions. But it says to put "Scenarios.dat" onto the folder. The problem is, that there is a Scenarios.dat file for the liberty rush and a Scenarios.dat for potential grim. I don't know too much about modding. But i have this feeling that these files are going to switch each other. So i can't play multiple mods at the same time if they have a file that has to be replaced in common. Am i right?!?

I have Simple Traffic Loader and I've yet to play IV with it. I have a few GTA V cars in there already. The problem is, it only adds cars to each region of the map to your liking, that's it. I still need a mod that makes a traffic model more realistic and similar to V's.
