Killer playing as always, my friend! 🔥🤘🏽🔥 Olivier Pinard is one of the best bassists in the extreme metal scene today, unfortunately he doesn't get the praise he deserves.

Pinard is the reason I got my first Spector bass!! There is a vid of him playing at a NAMM show in 2020. I remember watching it over and over, jaw dropped by the ferocity of his playing and drooling over that beautiful Spector Alex Webster model. Sometimes I get a bit angry that he gets buried in the mix of Cattle Decap. There are tasteful licks all over Death Atlas and Terrasite, that aren't even audible!! In the occasional part that there is just bass and drums, we can hear the truly devastating tone. Thank you for the support, man!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

That was monumental, from the calculated precision playing to the different techniques used; That hammer fist feedback inducer for one! Great song too, and perfect for your playing. That t-shirt is awesome. The Dark Knight truly does rise. And thank you for the shout out in the description brother!!! It never ceases to amaze me that someone of your calibre of playing rates me. It really helps. I think I've had some exotic strain of covid 😅 because I've been battling some heavy fatigue but Biomechanical isn't too far off from being finished. 👊🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘👊

The hammer thing came spontaneously🤣🤣 I guess I got really into it, you know?! Without your push, I wouldn't have done the song, man! There are no tabs of it. There a making of video though, of which I managed to steal a couple of riffs😁 The rest was done by ear and some improvisation. Thank you for trusting my abilities and making me hear with my ears, more than my eyes. You pay attention to the t-shirts?! Man, I really don't🤣🤣🤣 I've got a vid wearing a T-shirt with Patrick from Spongebob Squarepants on it!! Another one with a Batman logo shirt, on which half the logo has chipped off!!! 🤣🤣

I have said it many times, my brother: I find your passionate playing style and music choices inspiring to say the least. The fact that you work out soundtracks, complex and convoluted music entirely by ear puts you, at least in my eyes, in a whole other league. The shout out is well deserved and the least I can do. People need to hear you!!! I'm sorry to hear you got covid, man! I hope you get well soon! Your absence is felt... I remember the fatigue from when I got covid, back in 2021. It lasted for bloody 2 months!! Don't let it put you down!! 👊👊👊👊🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

@@morbidalex666 I could tell that one was particularly resonating with you and it was fkin awesome to watch as always. I actually thought when watching that some of the parts must have been difficult to dismantle and understand, including the lone bass section. Some of the Cannibal and even Deicide that you've played looks horrendous to work out. You're one of the rare ones who can play 3 fingers highly proficiently and understand and decipher melody which is a level I want to get to. 😅 Yeah, that t-shirt really suited that song. I don't normally pay attention but it went perfectly, in addition to the beastly tone of your bass. Excellent work brother! 👊🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘👊

@@rainbowsludge660 Man, you really need to give yourself more credit!!! I mean, off the top of my head, the end part of that Indian song, the polyrhythmic Meshuggah-y one!!! I could never do that - not in a million years! Or the other whacky stuff you have covered, like Mr Bungle and Cardiacs - Shit!!! You're awesome, brother!! Believe it! Even if you do not admit it in public, believe it! Playing with 3 fingers was the one thing I knew I wanted to do, even before I had my first bass. I remember practising on a pillow, as I waited for my first bass to arrive😂😂 Still trying to even out the attack between the 3 fingers. I'm sure that, with little practise, you'll get it down. If I can, you certainly can. 👊👊👊👊 I am silently proud of certain bits I worked out by ear, trial and error and some improvisation. But it was really hard work for me to achieve them. I wish it came more naturally. Like you make it look😁😁😁😁 On a side note, I decided my next order of strings will be stainless steel, with hexagonal core. I want a little variety - not just Hi-beams. So, any suggestions you might have are welcome... Take care man!!👊👊👊👊🍻🍻🍻🍻🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

@@morbidalex666 It's hard for me to put into words what you've said means to me. I feel incredibly privileged to have your support and understanding. I really do use the bass and covers as a therapeutic tool and you've greatly validated my efforts. I don't impose the same limits as I used to as a result. I'm my own worst enemy. Its one of the few things I think I'm good at and even then I'll find a way to discredit it in some way. But I don't treat others the same way. I am slowly learning to ease up on all that and you've most definitely helped in that process. Thank you Brother for your powerful words!!!!!! 👊🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘👊 Regarding strings, have you tried D'addoria Pro Steels? I'm not sure if they fit your criteria. I don't use them anymore despite a really nice tone, because they seem to grip my fingers too much.

This tone flys past nasty and lands directly in diabolical 🤘 What bass are you turning into saw dust lol

Hey thanks, man!! The bass is a heavily modified 2003 Cort A6. Really heavy instrument with boutique tone at bargain basement price. These old Corts are the shit!!
