I have been doing extensive research on Sophronitis. Although cernua is more tolerant to warmth than other species of this genus, it is not a warm grower. It grows better in cooler environments. They are ok under 86F during summer but it needs drop in temperatures at night even during summer. Cool temps in winter. I hope yours will bloom soon, they are growing well. Maybe they will grow better in root fern although their need in high humidity is rather in the environment than on the roots. Good luck Bobby, fingers crossed 🍀🤞

They like our cooler temps here, but they grow and bloom.

Hi Bobby, i think we all have seen many of our orchids for the first time at Roger's 😊 Yours look very nice! There is a big debate going if these are warm or cool growers. My 50 cents is that is quite variable and may be depended from which area the first were collected. I have seen articles it grows right at the beach all the way up to cooler areas. Sounds logical too me but that doesn't make it right of course 🤣 I haven't seen blooms on mine either, it is growing roots well though, maybe i will hang it in front of the window to give it a bigger day night difference. It was nice to have another carecollab together, have a very nice day Bobby, stay safe and happy growing

I can't even use moss on any of mine, and I find them more cool growing. As long I keep mine bright and a little cooler they grow good.

Bobby they all look really good, mine has been with me for 3 years now and yesterday II found it’s first flower. Listening to Roger’s video yesterday he keeps pretty dry in the winter and no feed at all and also said that it spends a long time not doing anything at all. I have mine in my warm house, I pretty much ignore it as I didn’t think it would ever grow. It is so slow to grow and perform. I also remember 3 years ago Roger’s plant was awash with flowers and, like you, that is when I bought mine. It is mounted and I throw water at it now and again. All of yours look beautiful, and are growing on well I would say. I will use the welsh moss when I re-mount mine so I need to keep an eye out for new roots. You are as bad as me that is how I ended up with more than one parishii but if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again until you do and if that involves buying more orchids and you can get hold of them then go for it. Like the look of the yellow version as well. Stay safe my friend. ❤️

Seems like everyone is growing this, I even have one. 😅 Got mine from TarzaneGroupOrchids, and so far it's seems do be doing fine, Hopefully next season I'll see first blooming. Saw Ninja Orchids and Todd's Tropicals vids this morning. My Onc. Globuliferum is showing some new growth, and roots so I think it will make it. Hope you're having a great day Bobby.. catch ya next time. 👍

Mine kept putting growths out and seemed to love seaweed and calmag. Although I’ve had fans on them but still the black rot sets in. I’ve also pulled the moss off and left it bare-rooted. Once barerooted it decided it didn’t like it’s parts watered just the roots. Eventually the especially warm season took them out. They do need a break from the heat durning the day and we didn’t have much change from day to night. I love it but it just didn’t work in my environment.

I keep setting mine back with repotting but have decided to keep it where it is and she will either make it, or not. Truly enjoyed your information on your "journey". Thank you for such great info!!!

I had one cernua when I use to lived in Brazil, mounted on a self-water terracotta planter (we call it “pau de Barro”), in a balcony on the 7th floor in São Paulo city (windy and dry). I think It's a nice way to grow them, first because they really enjoy being mounted, second because this kind of mount offers constant moisture to the roots without soaking them wet. The roots (and mosses), seem to like it a lot and I had some flowers from time to time. In Brazil, some use the same technique with other species as well, especially tiny orchids like pleurothallis.

"they were getting fed high, about 150 ppm" 150 is high? I won't tell you what level I am experimenting with then, I guess it would be nuclear (nucular, it's pronounced nucular🤣)
