Just FYI, abusers (men and women) keep custody of their kids every day, for all kinds of reasons, all over this country. You can be a good to your kids AND bad to your significant other; you can also be abusive to a kid and never have custody taken. You can find a plethora of cases wherein a mother OR father was appointed custody only to then kill the spouse or the child. Having custody of a child does not exclude a person from being abusive.
