I really don't mean to be a party poop but the chances of that fish surviving are minimal I watch your videos alot and I have never seen you wet your hands before you touch your fish! When you do that you take the valuable slime off of the fish they don't die right away but eventually it kills them plus in my opinion you had him out of the water way to long! This also is a detrimental to the fish you really need a good net where you can keep them in the water most of the time and only leave them out just long enough to get a good picture I can tell your a good dude and an awesome Fisherman but please if you want them to survive be more mindful on how you handle your fish Good catch!

What a beast! Here in the uk salmon sometimes breed with trout which produces some pretty bulky hybrids, this looked like one of those and could explain the hooked jaw and sheer size of that thing. (I’m not sure if you have salmon in that area but it’s interesting to think about)

@Mo_Taser
@Mo_Taser Жыл бұрын
Yeah I'd guess that's a 6, maybe a 7 pounder. That's nearly the size of a coho salmon. Living in trout-crazy British Columbia, I've caught a lot of trout in my life, mostly rainbows but also a lot of cutthroat. I've never caught a trout as big as yours. Well done and congratulations. In BC, generally speaking, although not a strict rule, the largest trout are found in the larger, deeper lakes and you troll for them like salmon. You're contradicting that theory a bit with that beauty you caught. If records were kept for a particular lake, I may still hold the record for the largest bow ever caught on a small urban lake in Coquitlam BC called Como Lake. I used to fish there as a kid when my uncle would take me. It was stocked with bows and no one ever caught anything more than maybe 10 inches long; all small fish. I doubt anyone even believed there were fish bigger than 10 inches in Como Lake. One day my uncle took me there, who had been fishing Como Lake for upwards of 50 years, and we separated to try different parts of the lake. I cast a worm in and landed a big old dark-coloured bow of maybe 20 inches and weighed maybe 3 or 3 1/2 pounds. This was a total anomaly for Como Lake. No one had ever seen a fish that big taken there before. My uncle took a picture of me with the bow and sent it to the Columbian Newspaper that published it with the caption, "12-year-old catches biggest fish ever on Como Lake." I was prouder than a kid who'd just met and got an autograph from his favourite sports star. I caught it under a large maple tree with branches that extended well past the shoreline and which hung out over the lake. This was the only area of the lake which had an overhanging tree. My theory is that this big old rainbow staked out that part of the lake all to himself, repelled all intruders to his territory, and grew fat on caterpillars and insects that fell from the branches of the maple tree above. It wasn't just feeding on mosquitos and tiny no-see-ums like the rest of the trout were out in open water. It was feeding on much larger stuff like caterpillar larvae, ants and ant larvae, beetles and things like that which fell from the branches above.. Biggest trout I ever caught was also a rainbow. Caught it in the stream where I grew up on my uncle's ranch in western Alberta. It was about 22 or 23 inches long and according to conversion charts weighed around 4 or 5 pounds. It was a fattie though and could have weighed a pound or so more than that. As you can probably tell, I enjoy talking about fishing. 😂 Perhaps of note - I was MGH until I changed my name a few days ago. You may remember I had an argument with a guy in the thread where you found the dead cougar in the creek. Really enjoy your channel, and MERRY F**KING CHRISTMAS!
