i recently got a vic last yr with well now 80k miles but its got w misfire of 4 it did also sit in a field for 15 yrs b4 i bought it and the only thing i’ve replaced on it since is fuel pump along with the spark plugs/coils bout to to the cam position sensor maf sensor injectors and maybe the plug wires hopefully that will fix it.

They shoot out coil injectors I had one and my cousin had to re-drill the spark plug injector socket

I've had this problem off and on again in my wife's old 2003 Ford Escape (V6). We've taken it to two different mechanics (including a Ford dealership). The Ford dealership recommended a full (and costly tune-up) but they didn't fix the issue (and told me that they don't know what the problem is). I later took it to another shop (The Car Doctor in Palo Alto, California). They replaced the fuel injectors and they assumed that it would fix the issue. Nope. It still didn't fix it. The car runs fine -- but it does feel like it has some slight "hiccups" sometimes when idling. While driving down the road, it is usually fine. Unfortunately, I worry that it won't pass the California Smog test. The Check Engine light is almost perpetually on (which I have read will almost always fail your vehicle in California). Thankfully, it has passed my last two smog tests. I have to get a smog this week. I just wonder if it will pass. Currently, it has the P0304 and P0316 error codes. Suggestions or advice?

I’m not sure if it will pass the emission test if you passed before with the code, you likely will again. There are several causes of a Ford P0304 and a P0316 code. I went to a auction for the first time yesterday come out with 245k milies for $800 2007 ford focus the engine is pristine condition I mean clean well maintain got a code yesterday misfire cylinder 4 and I need to change the motor mounts later today

Hey I had the code 40420 show up a couple of days ago and than the check engine light was gone two days later, the next day the p0304 code came on while driving and check engine light was flashing and car seemed like it didn't want to accelerate, cut the car off went to clock in came came back drove around the parking lot with no problem, what could it be

I sure hope it's just a spark plug. Have a very bad vibration driving today. 2013 fusion hybrid.

I got one of these problems. It’s also doing p0303. Mechanic said it’s a cracked head. Could that be true? It only has 125k

A cracked head can happen any time, usually when the engine overheats. Is there any water in the oil? Often, water leaks into the oil when a head is cracked or has a bad gasket. White smoke out of the exhaust is another common sign. The best way to know for sure is to have a Leak Down Test done.
