05 xc70 chasing codes . Changed sensor, Changed pump module, repaired wiring that was twisted together instead of spliced. Works periodically but relapses.

Mechanic diagnosed fuel rail sensor on 2008 Merc Gr Marq from check engine warning light. This happened after radiator fluid boiled over when radiator cap failed. Mechanic just reset check engine light without repairs to the sensor and only replaced radiator cap. Is that advisable?

Could be that the wiring or something within the wiring harness got mess up by the radiator fluid. Not truly advisable, BUT could also just been misreading sensor due to some gunk build up and it cleaned off. If there was a problem, the light would come back on. If so, then check the wiring harness and the fuel lines.
