Exactly. Years ago a neighbor's dog (Chopper) attacked my dog (Rex) on our back deck. Had to sue her for vet bills & stuff. Her excuse was Chopper was trying to play & Rex growled at him. Yeah, it didn't fly - she had to pay for everything.

Defendants have an excuse for everything. They actually blamed a pallet falling down as to why their dog got out ( not themselves) and they didn't pay because they didn't know how to get in touch with the plaintiff. You would think they could have obtained the contact information from the police that came that day, if they actually cared. They shouldn't be pet owners with attitudes like that.

Wow!!! I honestly can't stand how ignorant some dog owners are... I was at a hotel once with my two "yappy" dogs approaching the door to go inside... a man with a pitbull (muzzled and short leashed) was inside the vestibule... he cracked the door open and politely asked me if I would take my dogs around the corner so that he could bring his dog out to the backside of the building... I very much appreciated the awareness of his dogs possible reaction to my small dogs... I did, however, pick up my dogs before going around the corner, out of sight, before they exited... THAT is a responsible dog owner... IMO...

Judge Milian and Judge Judy always have so many dog attack cases, and I never want to be one of them...

Yappy yorkies, bichons, malties, etc are signaling another dog to fight. Small dogs don't rationalize size difference and think they can beat a large dog. I train my clients using the "Cesar Milan" method. Tug the leash to the side and tell your dogs to be quiet. If they don't then bend down and go "hands on" and gently get the alpha dog to sit. If you address the "dominant" alpha dog in your pack it will automatically influence your other dogs to submit/be quiet AND influence any approaching dog to calm down. Results are immediate.

Whether you have a fenced yard or not. It is not difficult to put the dog on a tether! That’s how mine go out. The tethers are just inside my door. Door does not open unless all 3 are on one! People need to be more responsible and careful!

My mothers dog was mauled by neighbors pit bull & died due to being bitten so many times he bled out. My mother called the law & dog warden but nothing was ever done about it. My state doesn’t have strict enough rules & regulations when it comes to animals & the community we live in doesn’t have any rules about keeping contained & on leash. It’s just crazy! It blowed my mind when plantiff said they didn’t send flowers or nothing. First time I’ve ever heard that said in here! I don’t think I would even expect flowers!?

Usually that happens when a person has been killed or severely injured. That’s why a dog owner who loves their dog should protect them by making sure they are always 100% under their control. Then they can’t kill or injure people, or even another dog. When someone is killed it’s pretty hard to argue in favor of keeping the guilty dog alive. If its’ owner wasn’t able to maintain control in the first place how will they ever be able to convince anyone that they will do so after a fatal dog attack?
