The plaintiff used to be best friends with the defendant, but she claims the defendant owes her rent from when they lived together, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant argues the plaintiff was the one who went on a rent strike and refused to pay.

So the landlord gave them 90 days notice because the tenants kept getting fines for not parking in the wrong place. The litigants were so mortified that their own actions caused them to be evicted, they didn't pay rent for 4 months. And now, the Plaintiff wants over 5k for rent she probably didn't pay herself? Both of these women deserve each other. The only person that got screwed was their landlords. No pictures, no bank documents, no proof. Frustrating.

honestly, i doubt they got evicted because of the parking. she was just so not specific enough. Is that really a reason to evict someone? Its possible the plaintiff was already in arrears before her friend moved in.

Yes the show definitely helped them and the landlord out. The Judge gives her $1747 for the carpet, repaint but she owes that to the landlord. The Judge then says the rent the defendant owes will not go to the plaintiff (which is good) but directly to the landlord. Consequences: the plaintiff will still have to pay her half of the rent, her credit is destroyed and good luck surviving a background check on her next rental attempt.@@jennross6466

I find it hilarious that the plaintiff is so mad that the defendant didn't pay rent in December and January that she is suing but doesn't see a problem stiffing a landlord for 4 months. Harvey always asks the outside audience who is worse, landlords or tenants. There are so bad landlords but for every one of those there are dozens and dozens of bad tenants.
