The Sapling is a short simulation/sandbox game which has similarities to Spore's creature creator. In the game, you design your own plants and animals and put them in a world together. Or you turn on random mutations, and see what evolution does to your ecosystem!

The problem is that there is almost no deep oceans. The elephants were able to waddle through the shallows and land, dominating almost the entire map. If you made the oceans deeper, and possibly more expansive, the original species may have survived.

The marine creature has an eye on the top of its head because the grass below blinds them. Staring into the sun is better than looking down.

You can put udders under the creatures, it's just finicky since the spine is a sphere and not a cube

How about you take one species, take a few more of those species on a faraway island. Then see how they evolve in different conditions

Ever thought of combining your narrative skills from your PZ series to a narrative Sapling video? I could imagine a fake documentary style narrative centred around a species on the planet and how it evoled over time and what obstacles it overcame and all that.

If it wasn't for the small map and the animal/plant limitations my PC would lag a lot! Still has a long way to go for optimisations!

I hope so. I did make a video on some of the other bits that were released in the latest update, but honestly I was a little disappointed with how everything worked out, and the persistent bugs. I may release it at some point, or tie it into a future video if combined with another recording

The Sapling, more like The Laging !! This game is good but it has so much problems : lags, no evolution transition (water to land, land to sky), some options get back on default, evolution of creatures is sometimes f**ked up and you can't put body parts where you want (like in Spore). Try it to see by yourself

There are various problems with the game as you said, but it is being made by a single person, and is early access - compared to Spore which was complete on release, and made by EA Games with a massive team, so in that sense comparing the two now isn't really fair. I am hoping these issues will be focused on before any new content though, as my system is pretty good, but the lag gets pretty intense pretty quick! Luckily they have the clean-up system in place now, which does help - but I think better optimization would be much more appreciated than anything else right now
