Caustic is absolutely my favorite app. It amazes me that I can carry such a flexible music studio in my pocket.

@Con Job It's still available. He didn't stop making it.

It's the work of a single developer. He's recently released a mastering app. I believe he has not abandoned this but that he works on it at his own pace when he so desires. Its feature complete so unless an API breaks something it doesn't need to be updated until he's ready. There are similar applications, but in my opinion, this one is the best, and it does a lot of things that nothing else does.

@Con Job It's the best value any electronic musician could make. It's the best android purchase I've ever made for sure.

This is brilliant. I've been using this app since 2013 and sampling sounds from it onto hardware samplers. I've never actually dug deep into this app, but this feature is the best yet.

This little app blows me away. I'm using it to teach my kids sound design. I love that there is a windows version. Sad that the website is no longer operational and has been taken over by horrific spammers.

I've been using this app for over a year and never knew that this was possible. I guess it would help to watch tutorials but the again my brain wouldn't be able to process everything at one time so I guess it was time for me to learn this after learning the basics

I'm trying to mix the sawsynth and the organ together but I want the organ be an octave higher. Seems right now it only maps C3 samples with other C3 samples, I don't know of a way to change that. But, this is definitely a step in the right direction, I really like this caustic update! EDIT: I figured out a way! you just have to export just the organ alone using the merge rack and then use the octave knob in pitch on the pcmsynth. Then use the merger again to merge the rest of your instruments together.
@BarryBebop2 жыл бұрын
OOOH! This is a clever workaround! Thank you for this!

Or just pitch the saw synth down an octave from the very beginning

@AriixMusic7 жыл бұрын
But how do you apply volume envelope to the final preset in pcmsynth? Those are multiple wave forms in the preset.
@FictitiousCtrlGames7 жыл бұрын
Ariix My question also. It should work. But it doesn't.
@AriixMusic7 жыл бұрын
It would have been so cool if it could work!
@braj1087 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I am wondering if this is a bug or some necessary limitation. I don't know why it would do that though, since the sound is now just a series of samples.
@braj1087 жыл бұрын
Wait, I figured it out! It is multi-sampled, remember, so changing the first sample mode is only the first step, you need to go through each of the samples and change the mode, and then it works! It would be nice if it allowed a global setting, but I'm not complaining, and it of course makes sense once I thought about it.
@FictitiousCtrlGames7 жыл бұрын
I don't remember the mode making a difference with the use of volume envelope.

Is there any chance of an auto chop feature? It would be killer if I could have a wav file auto chopped and mapped on the rack mount keyboard and find the select chops while playing the current project. Similar to how you can do it in FL studio edison. If you can do this already please let me know how to. This app is amazing by the way.

How to convert pcm file to wave samples? Thanks
@skevosmavros4 жыл бұрын
If you tap the field ".PCMSYNTH" next to the file name on the export screen (see 4:12 in the video), it will change to ".WAV .ZIP". Now, if you export it will create a zip file full of intuitively named WAV files. It will save the zipped WAVs to the same folder it saves PCMsynth presets to. The only hitch is that unlike when you export a full song, there doesn't seem to be any way to export 24 or 32 bit WAVs, only 16 bit - but it's still a great feature.

Amazing! Can i use this feature for live performance without exporting it? Say I want to layer a piano, a string and a pad. It looks like this does what I am looking for. And without exporting, it looks like I can control the volume of each machine but would I be able to assign each volume to my physical knobs?

Hello, using beatbox(caustic), how do you add effect to a single sample__like If you need to add reverb to snare alone without adding reverb to the whole beatbox?
@Hitler988603 жыл бұрын
When u open up the choke note gear icon go to the snare and press the waveform icon it will send u to the sample editor from there go to effect and put a reverb on tweak it then hit apply then hit done.
@Hitler988603 жыл бұрын
By the way if the snare sample is to short copy and paste it a few times mute all but one hit.

Jeez! I've actually missed that this feature was there all of the time since v3.2 xD .. This gives great possibilities! Btw! How do you manage to squeeze down the latency to such small time in the desktop version? It looks like it's Windows you're using, and I've not seen any way of using ASIO for it..? But then, after all, you're the developer and you might have a feature that the users don't xD..
