My King Charles Spaniel is the laziest creature I have ever encountered. If there is anything that is comfy in my house, he lays his ass down on it, claims it as his own, and doesn't wake up for at least 3 hours. He's such a bean and I love him so much for it.

I watched this not because I was that intrested but because sadly i had a cavalier king who passed away recently, it made me sad but I remembered that we had 13 beatiful years toughether. She passed away in her sleep after a few days that she saw all of my parents, granparents, uncles and aunts, cousins etc. So it seemed like she chose that moment Appreciate the time spent with you pets

I was researching dogs breeds last year and had never even heard of this breed before. This video prompted a slew of research and I ended up getting a cavalier this year. He’s 6 months old now and I am absolutely in love. He has puppy energy bursts still but the laziness is really starting to come out, which I love because I just wanted a lap dog. He is so therapeutic and loving and just wants to be near you. But we trained him to have crate time and be left alone to play from day one and so far no separation anxiety. He’s truly a dream dog

This is true as well as them living a long time if taken care of as my mothers cavalier lived to almost 14. They need exercise but a long walk and or ball time will do the trick. They get lazier as they get older as my dog Merlin is lazy at 13 years old. Keep in mind they get hip and heart issues due to inbreeding. They are the best dogs I have ever known. They pick their person and stick to them like glue till the end. Mine knows his food time and bed time and sticks to it at all costs. If trained right they are worth every penny of their expensive cost to get. Love you and Miss you Slider. You were the best dog Ive ever known. All you wanted was your food, moms attention and to chase those stupid birds. Merlin and mom miss you. Rest in Peace under the old oak true my old friend.

Toby was smart enough to get out of his pen, yet also so stupid he ran face first into a wall, while looking straight at that wall whole charge. God rest that sweet dogs soul, I know the family mom gave him too loved him for years before he passed.

They forgot to mention that Cavalier King Charles spaniels are super smart for such little dogs. They’re easy to train due to their outgoing personality and desperate need for human interaction, so as a result they’re super bright and can be trained to be certified service dogs. Trinket is the smartest Cavvie I know, though; she can spell two dozen words and even figured out the beginning letters of “ride”, “drive” and “walkies”. She figured out how to climb out of a playpen we bought for her twice before we caught her and my mom didn’t believe she could do it until she witnessed it. The unbelievable part? She was 4 months old when she did it.

I used to have a cavalier king charles spaniel when I was 13 yrs old and he was a royal color black and tan and his name was Toby. Toby was shy at first until he got used to me and his surroundings that is when he started to be very active and very playful. He passed a year after my dad died. I was 17 yrs old when Toby passed.

I just lost my Little Girl in December, at 14 years! Had numerous and love them deeply! Cavaliers DO need regular Grooming to keep them sharp and beautiful! Took mine every 4 weeks!! They ARE NOT Watchdogs!! Don't expect it!. Cavaliers Need to have inner Ear Hair Removed to prevent inner Ear Infection! Long hair prevents Air Circulation that keeps inner !! They can Eat like Horses which can lead to weight problems. All mine loved sleeping on the bed at night! Males will sleep close and females will sleep away from you. Once you have one, You Will be Hooked!! Maybe more than One!!

We own a 2 year old KCS and to say these are a lazy breed is a ridiculous statement. They are Spaniels! We take our girl on 5 mile hikes and she loves it. What is great about them is Cavies will adapt to what their humans want on any given day. If you are active, they will run you into the ground. Want a day as a couch potato? They will lay with you all day. The only “lazy”Cavie just has a lazy owner.

Calvier King Charles spaniels are very good, they have a short coat (they molt) so you don’t have to cut their coat except for the legs ears, tail and chest area really. They are so friendly, and they tolerate almost anything 😊
