Mistakes that happened during that time: 1. Hill just missed a game winning free throw and no one is talking about it 2. Durant didn't box out Jr. Smith 3. Coach didn't called a timeout 4. Jr. Smith went outside instead of shooting a layup or passing it to James when he went outside

@_Feanor_.6 жыл бұрын
I'm actually wondering about Coach Lue also. You got to know the situation. You're down one and get two freethrows. Your player makes both, you're good. Don't foul in the remaining seconds if you're in the penalty. If he misses the first and makes the second, the game is tied. Don't try to foul in the remaining seconds to get to overtime. If he makes the first and misses the second you are tied, and either your team or the other team can come up with the ball. In case your team get's the rebound, you need to be next to a ref and call timeout if you have one. That's what a coach is for. Use your timeout get your players tohgether, talk to them and draw up a play to try and win. Listen to his response in the interview. Sure he is also down and emotionally drained, but "he could've had a little floater but then somebody was there. You think about calling a timeout, but then LeBron was open for a second. It just happened too fast". What kind of a respons is that. A good coach would've called for TO if he had one to use. Not saying JR wasn't stupid. The game was tied, with you holding the ball and going into overtime. There was no pressure. Even if he tried to fake in order to get KD into the air, waited for the opening and tried to put it in, and by that time another defender had come over and blocked him clean. You're still going to overtime. He probably could've gone up and drawn a foul on KD . Even if he missed both freethrows, the game still goes into overtime most likely. Both not so good, for the momentum of the game maybe, but way better than just doing nothing like he did. That along with some bad calls killed the Cavs. But it's not all on JR. I blame Coach Lue as well.

But, it was necessary for him to either call a time out (if they had any remaining), or take that last shot. I think he made a good decision by freeing himself from traffic. @wolfgineer93406 жыл бұрын
I like how u answered your own question.. it's not too complicated. You won't see JR or Tristan traded ever because no one will ever take them unless the Cavs are willing to pay majority of the contract. Thats why when the trades went down earlier in the year, they traded eveyone they traded for. They cant trade these guys. They traded Wade because Wade wanted to go back to Miami. The team was breaking up, his role was always undefined, so they did a nice deed of trading him back home for a 2nd round. That's just a gentlemen's trade by the Cavs

Nah I feel that was just Ty Lue throwing JR under the bus. He wasn’t man enough to own up to his own mistake of not calling the timeout
@jakeman0252 жыл бұрын
@@squashua7222 what coach in their right mind would call a timeout with a rebound like that? That was a golden opportunity to get it right back up on the rim and possibly get fouled at the very least. By the time he dribbled it out and passed to Lebron it was too late. But no he wasn’t throwing him under the bus he was clarifying the assumptions everyone had. Which was JR was lost.

LeBron grabbed his shit and leaving at the end reminds me of that Traci Braxton GIF 😂
@bronsontehau7226 жыл бұрын
I don't know about this,... Look, I cant stand JR but he got a great offensive board over KD, KD is 7ft so a layup wasn't the best option, JR had nobody to kick it out to from the rebound no one on the perimeter saw the opportunity to backdoor cut to the basket, JR didn't want to turn it over. I'm more disappointed with the missed free-throw by George who is getting off lightly here, he had a chance to win Game1 and where was Coach Lue who gets paid for moments like this not calling a time out and run a fkn play with 4 seconds to steal Game1. Lots of things went wrong here not all JR
@John6-406 жыл бұрын
Fair enough. I thought he looked like he was looking for LeBron, but LeBron wasn't standing by the 3PT line...he was way back.
@almightey50966 жыл бұрын
if george makes the freethrow the warriors get the ball with 4 seconds to make a play that they probably have drawn up and have practiced for moments like this. but if JR takes the layup off the right side of the glass it goes in. KD as the defender didnt even have both feet planted on the ground by the time JR gets the ball, with him being an athletic guard he can get passed the defender before he gets situated on the ground and take the shot off the right side of the glass. make or miss its still the best case scenario instead of running the time out. if he missed the time wouldve been out anyway and the warriors even if they get the rebound have no chance and it goes to overtime, if he makes it they win. either way he wouldn’t be getting the criticism hes getting rn.

@Eastra36 жыл бұрын
You can try to make the lay-up, but even though KD's feet weren't planted they were close to replanting in enough time to still block the lay-up, because that wingspan would have made up for the milliseconds of advantage that you think JR had.

What JR said did make perfect sense and he had no time to watch the clip over and over like us to come up with a bs excuse. Why not talk about Hill missing the FT or no timeout being called? 4 seconds isn’t much time to think. He grabbed a rebound that he shouldn’t even have got and they blame him lol. If they think JR cost them the game then they’re delusional and won’t get it together enough to even compete next game.
@CertifiedPG6 жыл бұрын
StephenCurry BetterThanJordan He told no lie. Everybody is blaming a PLAYER over time MANAGEMENT while playing in the heat of the moment instead of the COACH who is simply watching the game comfortably and gets paid to MANAGE the game. But yet he did absolutely nothing to keep his team together.
@CertifiedPG6 жыл бұрын
StephenCurry BetterThanJordan Like he said. KD is right over the top of him. Going up for that shot is a dummy mission. He clears it out, Klay is all over him he entire way. Only mistake he made was not passing to LeBron once he reset. Y’all need to stop acting like he pulled a Brandon Jennings and passed up a open lay up. Y’all are so fixated on the Warriors losing that you just HAVE to blame someone to feel like they really won. Just be real.
@TimDaGoof6 жыл бұрын
StephenCurry BetterThanJordan this dude is being payed millions to do his job, I would think time management and knowing the score and seconds left in the game is apart of those millions you’re being payed
@almightey50966 жыл бұрын
Martavius Echols he had more than enough time to lay it off the right side of the glass. he didn’t even think about shooting the ball. he himself told lebron he thought they was up read his lips. by the time JR grabbed the rebound and planted his feet KD wasn’t even on the ground yet by the time JR goes for the layup KD is just getting stable on the ground. JR grabbed the rebound and ran immediately as if he planned it all in his head. any other player wouldve gone for the layup miss or not. you can see it in his face he felt ashamed for not knowing what was going on. i dont blame them losing the game solely on him, they could’ve won in overtime if they didn’t break down but i do blame them breaking down on him making that play and also the overturn call on KD. those two things broke their spirits. they weren’t ready for another five minutes of basketball and lebron wasnt ready to carry them any longer. the best case scenario was him taking that layup which he definitely could’ve made if he shot it off the right side of the glass.
@donairechristianp6 жыл бұрын
And in all of this, Tyron Lue could’ve called for a timeout.
@clasher1016 жыл бұрын
With 3 seconds left Lebron is wide open, unless JR is blind he is directly looking at him and no Warrior is even close. He then drags the defense out with him. With 2 seconds left Lebron signals for him to pass to an slightly open Hill but he is extremely confused at this point as to why he should. With a second left Lebron calls timeout but it's basically over at this point and they blow a chance to win at the buzzer.
@fulaan16 жыл бұрын
Jr might of thought he was under his own basket. He took off as if he was heading down the other end of the court. He completely didn’t know what the situation was.

No reason to make JR the scapegoat solely responsible, any cavs player including the coach can call a timeout to get a much better shot attempt in a set play, than whatever shot JR could have put up scrambling to get open. Why didn't they all call a timeout for him, they're all to blame.
@AlokSomani6 жыл бұрын
In a tie game, if there's a loose ball and the defense is scrambling, you usually can find a good shot opportunity off the rebound. That being said, LeBron did try to call a timeout as soon as he realized JR didn't know the game situation. 0:46
