I have heard many play this beautiful song, and I have to say that none are as wonderful as Ana. She adds so much more emotion that others do. She makes it sound like a new song. Much more enjoyable to listen to. I am glad I found this wonderful young woman who plays so beautifully.

100's upon 100's of thousand of people can play this song... a great deal less can breath human emotion into it... far less than that can do what she just did with this; which is put that extra over the top magic into it. To date I see 553 understand that and 10 people accidentally pressed the dislike button because they had tears in their eyes after listen to this. ;-) BTW, what's up with these young Slavic women? You can barely find an ugly one in the bunch. Serious google "slavic women"

Beautiful interpretation and presentation of Stanley Myer's Cavatina. Ms. Vidovic's technique is so good that she can lift the melody away from the accompanying harmony - the essence of the cavatina musical from in which the melodic aria is the primary focus. Giving the melody the independent voicing is what makes the performance so refreshingly beautiful. She often inspires me to revisit these pieces I also play and reexamine my own interpretations. Bravo, indeed!

I like this music. It is an expert, and a performance thinks the current performance to have been finished in a work feeling power of expression in comparison with a performance of the youth markedly in comparison with old days. If Japan can give a performance, I am glad.

Just listened to John Williams play "Cavatina". I have to say Ana's rendition is more melodic. Her touch is much smoother & delicate, lilting with subtle shading & careful control of volume in certain areas of this beautiful piece. Also her guitar has a bold crisp sound (I do believe it's a Jim Redgate guitar)...makes quite a difference! Absolutely no disrespect to John Williams whom I've listened to many times & rank him among the best classical guitarists.

Some guitar tunes just are played much better by women -some not. Playing at this level the actual notes and technical challenges are almost irrelevant, it is all about the 'feel' and interpretation. Love it.

Beautiful! That rendition definitely came from the heart. And as a musician myself who admires her, it's nice to see that even a master like Ana isn't always perfect. In this case the B and/or high E-string aren't tuned a 100% to perfection, especially on some of the notes played high up on the neck, some of which are just slightly pitchy. This is by no means criticism of Ana. Just nice to observe that even a master like her can't always be churning out pitch perfect performances. In fact, that isn't the most important part of what makes a brilliant performance - and those slight imperfections takes nothing away from the beauty of it. In my humble opinion it's way more important that the performer feels the music, and plays it from somewhere deep inside them. Which Ana, like most world class musicians, does.

@zatarregaza
@zatarregaza 8 жыл бұрын
+Stuart Mckean Religion is not God - just different interpretations of a concept derived by Man. But that's better left for another discussion. As far as music in religion (and I mean specifically pre-Christian Judaism and even early Christianity to the present ) there is a long history of music performed in and composed for church proceedings and for general worship. There was chant (Gregorian chant) before instruments were used all the way to the present with Johan Sebastian Bach composing some particularly glorious cantatas used in a liturgical setting along the way. Or maybe I misunderstood your response... Either way I agree with Castor. There is something otherworldly about music that we as a species happened upon as a mode of communication and an innate expression of ourselves (where did that gift of expression come from?) and promulgated via church music throughout history.

Wow me too! I like her clear crisp tones, they're sharp. Her approach is different from the others who play this song. Speed might be the enemy, but not here. She's playing from emotions which contribute to her approach of this song. It's always best to compliment someone else's work, by adding your signature. It's what separates us all. Well Played Ana : ) And you're a Knockout!

and in the foreground is the brutal savagery of Vietnam being played out in the Deer Hunter - can never forget the scene where the bartender goes over to the piano and plays this and midway through the scene shifts to the full-frontal attack on a Vietnamese village - so much beauty against so much horror -- and yes - that was the Vietnam War , without the beauty - for so many of us old guys this is what we think of when we hear this music even though none of knew what it was when we first heard it -just like we had never heard of Vietnam

The church. All those uneven surfaces , thick stain glass Windows . I bet the acoustics in there are brilliant, gives an exceptional performance such a lift. There grey rectangles are commonly used to to improve sound quality. Christine McVie from Fleetwood Mac an accomplished pianist used a church (I think) to record a song on Rumours. You if you listen to that can hear the affect of decent Acoustics. What a magical guitarist she is.
