The Cave and Basin National Historic Site of Canada is located in the town of Banff, Alberta, within the Canadian Rocky Mountains, at the site of natural thermal mineral springs around which Canada's first national park, Banff National Park, was established. The Cave and Basin National Historic Site is located on the western edge of Banff, Alberta, and is easy to get to from downtown.
The Cave and Basin is the lowest component of nine sulphurous hot springs clustered in three groups on the northeast flank of Sulphur Mountain. Cave and Basin has been a special place for Indigenous peoples for over ten thousand years and continues to be so to this day.
Parking can be found at the Cave and Basin parking lot. Tickets can be purchased over the counter for $7 per person.
