Cave Divers Light it Up!

Brent. Cool vid. Thx. Always enjoy them! With video I always use my BigBlue VPL15000 (unless viz is average). We have to keep our buddies in mind if they dive normal primaries as they can easily get blinded. And for the non cave divers. In caves a large part of communication is done with light espacially if the cave is narrower and diving side by side is not possible. In those circumstances video lights are a pain as it is easily possible to miss what the buddy is signalling from behind. Visibility, as in JB, is not a given. Often vis in caves can be a lot less. In those circumstances a video light crates too much scatter and a more focused beam is necessary. 😈

Thank you! And yes, everyone needs to know that video lights will be used, and briefed on how/when to use them to avoid interrupting communication or blinding anyone. Using them in hazy or silty caves is kind of pointless, as you mentioned, because of the backscatter. I've made that mistake before lol
