I just dodge both of them, if you took the time to get the whimsical star pendant, which is in the labyrinth after you've got the spur, you can stun both before they attack. Giving you a little time to focus on the undead core.

My sad story, bro: I was younger, I found Cave Story. It was probably the beginning of my love for games... of, this, sort... anyways. I went through it, got through the normal ending (of course I'd already been addicted to secrets and anything hidden in video games, so I researched) and found out about the Best Ending. I got through most of the Sacred Grounds, but before I could practice and grind hard enough, my fucking DS was sold. myfuckingdswassold. Years later, Steam. Steam with Cave Story. I cried. Oddly, this boss fight itself is fairly easy compared to the original Core battle, but pretty much everyone is so worn down from the fights with Misery, the Doctor, and Muscle Doctor that they're lucky to be in double digits health by the time they get to the Undead Core.

Way, WAY, *WAY* late, but I reached this boss with one health. ONE. I’m not mad, though. It was awesome. If you haven’t done it, it essentially comes down to leaving Misery alive as long as possible so you can heal, dealing with Sue as fast as possible because she’s so fast and unpredictable, and when they’re both down, the rush you get is NUTS!

I was at level 1 in everything because I didn't know we were allowed to kill Sue and Misery. In the end I realized I had 4 missiles left and I shot it at the core.

The easist method for this boss fight for me is knock out sue first then MIsery after that the doctor becomes a joke because he attacks a such a slow rate and the range of his attacks suddenly become super easy.

Focus on misery. She is much more dangerous than sue. Just blast her with missiles and use the rest on sue. Finish her with whatever you have if the missiles are not enough. After this, the battle becomes easy as fuck.

Pro-tip: Go down to the lower right corner and take down the other two enemies before trying to take down the core. The constant supply of enemies there will be able to replenish your life. You won't even have to use the one-time-use life pot. That's how I won this difficult battle.

I've noticed during the undead core fight that Misery is maliciously complying with the Doctor. She spawns waves of bats and critters that drop supplies, but mostly just if Sue gets hurt. If Sue is defeated, she starts actually attacking you with missiles, which have a much smaller item drop chance.

NGL that was the most fun fight I've ever done, besides the regular Core battle in the game. Free heals and all the chaos happening from both sides with Misery and Sue directly attacking you. Even greater if you got the Spur+Booster 2.0 combo!

Just in case you are still struggling, a good strategy is to stay in the back of the arena first of all. Focus your fire on Sue, since she has the most health, always just charged into one direction and can easily be avoided. Use the enemies Misery spawns as health sources. And never stay infront of the core. Once Sue is down, concentrate fire on Misery. If low on health afterwards, always attack the core from slightly behind it's face, never directly from the front.

For me I had to take down Misery first but still getting trying to get health back because when I did kill Sue, Misery just kept spawning the fish missiles to the point I would eventually die from the constant missiles. 🫠

Spur, I'm not very good at charging it so I almost always enter the fight with about 10-20 health, maybe a bit more after mimiga heart pickups, and I die from the core projectiles and misery projectiles from across the screen

Try your best to preserve health from the first two fights before the undead core, level everything up from the exp capsules that are right above the castle's entrance minus the nemesis if you have it for obvious reasons, and don't worry if you need to use missiles as after beating the undead core your HP and ammo count is fully restored. Personally I use the nemesis or level 2 blade to deal with Misery's fight, and if you charge the spur and hold down before talking to misery or the doctor and resume holding down right before their dialogue finishes you'll keep that charge and basically have a free level 3 maxed beam to shoot right as they start fighting you. I don't think this works for the undead core but definitely everything else that starts a fight by you walking too close should be affected by this trick. Regardless good luck, and it gets easier with time as you learn the patterns, trust me.

Just use the strat. that I used to beat every boss in a couple of seconds, get out a level two blade, get in close, and then press attack as fast as humanly possible. It should take a good 5 seconds or less.
