@@boomshakalaka8655 I assume they were talking about the man's vulnerability and willingness to struggle against the teacher to get to his family, but I don't think your point is fair about the push-ups either. Notice that the young man's grandfather was present, but he sat out of the push-ups because he was injured. The important part is that he's there for his grandson. The push-ups are just symbolic. And the biological father wasn't showing off at all. He was demonstrating to his son that he's willing to fight and sacrifice for him.

As a child of a single mother, I can advise you... never pretend or claim that you alone are enough. You are not, and you cannot compensate for the absent father. Allow your son to understand the deficiency. It will make him strong in the long run.

I am in a social work job in Canada, people talk and talk and talk about the problems but never have a solution, and now we have this progress ideas about helping people (which really is just letting them decide how them want to spend the rest of there life lost and addictions and mental health). This gives me hope that there is a solution and that their are people in this world willing to take those steps to actually help people. I also tear up watching everyone of your videos. So powerful!

No disrespect brother, but wishing to be strong to show your boys the way won’t help either of you, you gotta go out there and try if you want you’re boys to survive in life. I have no kids but I raised both my sister and brother when we were growing up, that responsibility scared me at first but I embraced it because it was my purpose all along. They’re both doing great and my sister is about to have her first child and like I was there for them I will be there for my nephew as well. I’m sending positive vibes your way so that you may find yours and be strong for your sons.

Then be there! PERIOD! Dont wish, dont try, just start doing it. As Mr Wilson always says keep practicing and it will get better and better, but you have to start and fail before you can get better/stronger at anything (including parenting). Go up to them right now, hug them strong and tell them how you feel, let it out! It's some very strong stuff!

I suffer from depression and anxiety, most Sundays I spend alone at home. Crying for most of it because I need that emotional release to feel balanced so I can function in society and make it through my work. week. It's good to cry. Let it out. Don't let your emotions get pent up.

This work is so important. I am a white father, English so on the surface have little in common with the father baring and destroying his ego. Saying this I found this so powerful. When he succeeded I cried tears of connection love and empathy for the Dad and the Sensei. There is so much more power in what connects us than the skin deep that powers use to divide us. Wow this is amazing. I am a Judoka and a veteran police officer and I am crying watching this. This is so powerful! "I am not hear to beat you but give you resistance get to them." The young man telling his dad how he wants him to play with him from the hear was heartbreaking. This is fight for your family is what is missing.
