Great video! I first went to Cayenne from Suriname in 1973....and many times since. The last time was in 2002 I think. Always loved going there!

Thanks for sharing. I’ve only been there once. Now headed to French Polynesia.

I enjoy your videos. How do you get to travel so often? What do you do for work?
@JaysWorldTravels2 жыл бұрын
That’s the most common question and oftentimes misunderstood. I travel because I’m curious, but it’s not related to any job I do. I’m worked 33 jobs and always managed to figure out a way to travel while still paying the bills. Actually, I minimize bills, so it’s not an overwhelming burden I’m faced with. I hitchhiked to Cayenne, French Guyana, but I don’t make that the focus of the video. It’s merely a means to reach my destination without busting the budget.

@@JaysWorldTravels Hey friend! I appreciate your detailed response. It makes sense. I'm from Florida, USA....I have a small child, and car payments and a mortgage, and I realize these things can be a form of bondage, while I'm grateful for what I have....my heart longs to be free of the 9-5 rat race in corporate america. I've always been very curious, such as yourself...I pray to God I can figure something out like you, to free myself. I don't think a life is mean't to just pay bills until you die. That's not the life I want. I want to live and be free.

@@IllUMINATED33 You could consider buying an used RV and selling the house. That way you would have more freedom.

@@albisuperstar Yes, that's the way you do it. Just travel when you can. Life is about enjoying it, not waiting until you're 65 to live life.

That's a such nice video. I like how you edit and show your point of view, is kind simple, there's something vintage on it.

I hear Cayenne harbors many unsavory exiles from Haiti? I’m a bit leery of Cayenne? I’d go to Georgetown & Paramaribo.

Just average. Cheaper than France, I would say.

@@JaysWorldTravels As an average French Guiana is 30% more expensive than mainland France. The reason being that most goods are shipped from France, so you've got to pay for freight. French expats in FG usually receive an extra salary bonus, up to 40%, to make up for the extra cost of living.

What are you doing buying from France, the US and many other south American countries produce goods. The expense and distance is not necessary.
