It seems that the race is « Le tour de Guyane ». The guy you can hear at first at 2:17 is screaming « Est-ce que vous souhaitez avoir une victoire guyanaise aujourd'hui ??? » (Do you wish for a guyanese victory today ?) and at 5:27 another guy speaks about « team guadeloupe » (guadeloupe being a french Island in the Antilles) .

As soon as you stepped into french Guiana the difference was palpable, nice new cars, no potholes, clean streets, no litter, no mud. It might be a relatively poor part of the first world, but it's definitely the first world.

the french former colonies are asked if they want independance : they all refuse, despite some autonomist groups make violent riots. The french social protection is too good to let it go, for the chaos of unprepared independance (like in some african countries, who turned in corrupted dictatures).

It’s a beautiful country, French Guyana, Stephan.! I visited a few times during the 60s, and we came from Surinam. I stayed at a hotel with my folks called Monta Beau in Cayenne. It was a long time ago thou. On the road we saw often a sign to remind us; “dive on right side.!!” In Surinam we drive on left side of the road.

Last time I visit Saint Laurent, Courou and Cayenne was in the mid 60s. Dad used to work for the ESSO oil company. Often he had to leave Surinam, and go over by car for work to ESSO in Cayenne. He took us along with him sometimes during the school vacations. What great times we had.! Specially when we went back to Surinam, and made a few stops on the road to rest, and catch “kwie kwies”. It’s a delicious fish, but the people from French Guyana didn’t eat it back then.

7:22 it's because there are a lot of bushinege people who live on the banks of the river there is not really a difference between those from Suriname and those from French Guiana most of those who are in French Guiana were born there and there are even bushinege villages in French Guiana I am one of them so we can say that the 2 are connected

Plan your trip to South Asian countries like India, Pakistan, Srilanka, Nepal or Bangladesh where your channel can grow much faster. Best of luck with your journey.
