Hello everyone! Shop with me as I walk through CB2 and Design Within Reach to gather home decor and Christmas gift inspiration. We'll see what new furniture, home goods, and home decor accessories have arrived this holiday season!
CB2 is a cool and edgy sister brand to Crate & Barrel and here we will be looking at contemporary, mid-century modern, minimalistic, and other timeless home decor furniture and accents along with some home decor dupes/alternatives at a more affordable price point.
Design Within Reach is the mecca for mid-century modern design! This was my first time in their showroom and I'll be sure to include less expensive dupes for these beautifully crafted pieces, too!
Every now and again I like to venture outside of my usual shopping "rounds" at HomeGoods and HomeSense to source home decor inspiration and ideas and see what cutting edge designs have hit the upscale home decor market.

That’s what I love to hear, Debbie 🙌🏼 it’s true, I love and appreciate these high-end pieces as much as the next and I’m sure there is a market for them out there! I however, can’t drop $9,000 on a table but a similar style at around 1/9th of the price might be more realistic in my budget. That’s what I strive to do in these types of videos, have a bit of a conversation with you at home - teach you what I know, weigh over alternatives, and have a good time in the process. DWR is another of my favorite stores. I'm happy to see you feature it. They have a website as well. When I moved on my own it was one of the stores where I bought decor pieces. Hi Beau. #1: I love your jacket, and I must have one. Don't need it, I WANT IT ! (I'm a mess, but my Bday is approaching and I could rock that ! Haha) #2: I am also a fiend for marble.....marble anything, and am always drawn to it. "The marble wine chiller (from CB2) stopped me in my tracks" would have been my exact sentiment. Sleek and stunning. I think every space needs an organic item just to ground it, and that cooler is on the mark !!! #3: I have always loved Design within Reach.......for INSPIRATION. Hello again, my friend! 🙋🏻‍♂️where do I begin... 1.) Happy early birthday! How exciting 🥳 I was actually able to find this bomber from Zara, they are one of my favorite clothing stores and for fast fashion, I think the quality is exceptional. I love jewel-tones too, especially going into the winter so thank you for the compliment! 2.) I loved that wine chiller, and honestly if I was entertaining more often I would have likely scooped one up as I’m sure I could use it to chill champagne, too! Such a beautiful piece and as you said - it’s artistic, sculptural, and a piece that would be used for years to come. 3.) This was my first time into an actual showroom of theirs, though I have been to an outlet location they have super close by. I would exactly say that their designs are “within reach” especially at those prices 😅 but we can dream and do the detective work to get the same satisfaction at a more reasonable price point. I’m so glad you enjoy seeing what pieces i spotlight. Always trying to vary the content and see what more is out there to share 🤗

Also, a hint for viewers that also appreciate marble : i have found some great marble (granite or other stone) slabs at Habitat for Humanity Restore. The inventory there is mostly remnants or leftovers from construction jobs, and some are also available with finished edges. So the moral of the story is to keep your creative minds flowing and don't discount any possibility. Also, search the remnants at a granite/stone yard. Lots of sizes, colorways and thicknesses are often available. And remember anyone that takes this on: STONE IS HEAVY because, ya know, IT'S ROCK !!!! Lift with your legs, don't break your backs, folks.

I have been in several Habitat Restores in different cities which are open to the public. Trust me, it's not fancy. All are a bit different. Some are clean and well organized, others.....not so much. I would liken it to FB mktplce, but it's all under one roof. You can find furniture, office furniture, cabinets, the odd piano, appliances, lamps, rugs, weedwhacjers, mirrors, artwork, you name it. Similarly to Homegoods, actually, there are customers that go every day in search of treasures. Also, some have adjoining buildings just for construction items. Some also offer a points rewards card for dollars spent towards a future discount. Have fun.

Hi Beau! Late again! Being a “mom” to two Shih Tzu’s has been exhausting! They are taking up a lot of my free time but we will get into a routine soon. It’s only been a week but feels like a year already! 😂. My husband helps out a lot so that provides me some freedom -hee, hee. This video was really informative and I really appreciate your always giving superb commentary - it made me want to shop out the CB2 store! I’m going to look right after Christmas for the acrylic nutcracker - that is really pretty. I wish we had a store here but we’re lucky to have Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn, West Elm & WM Sonoma, and we can always order!! Even though I can afford expensive decor items I can never justify the waste. Like those mini replica chairs, for example; I just don't see the point of that. That is what I’m aiming for, Sheryl! I really, wholeheartedly, appreciate this comment of yours. I want these outings to be opportunities to open our mind to design and all of the varied styles and options that are out there. I feel it’s so easy to get siloed into one look and we are complex and creative individuals who are capable of creating a unique style for ourselves if we have options. Ok Beau what car can I buy for $16k? LOL I'm in the market for a new car but I don't know what I want or what I can afford. lol For real though on some of those fancy retail prices! oh my! I love Nutcrackers too. I saw a crystal one at HG awhile back for $60. I was walking down an aisle and a customer held it up in the air and it took my breathe away. I was happy when she walked away from it so I could go look at it. I almost got it (I even had rewards to cover it) but I left it behind. :( I haven't been to HG in a long time it seems. Still a favorite store of mine though.

Right?! I may have stretched it a bit 😆 but back in the day when I was 16 you could get a Civic and other nice vehicles for around the price of that lamp. I’m glad you enjoyed the nutcracker, he was surely a sight to see! My aunt actually bought one the day we went shopping in the city! Love that you mentioned your HomeGoods rewards, too.
