Hey Deb! I really loved the look, I can tell they were likely more traditional in appearance with the brassy/gold finish...but I wanted to bring them into a more modern style and the matte black finish really helped me accomplish this 🙏🏼✨ I am so glad you liked the finished product! Thank you, Inga! It was a small change, but I really feel that it brought the lamps into a more modern appearance. The antique brass screamed “70’s” and though I loooove vintage, I thought the black elevated the look over all. So glad you agree my friend 🙌🏼

Hi Beau, business first : I am working today, and we do not have the lampshade you need at my HomeGoods. Secondly, you are completely correct, if you need 2 lampshades, then buy them together. Now, I am so peanut butter and jealous over those lamps....what an amazing addition to your collection !!! A helpful hit to anyone that uses spray paint....WEAR RUBBER OR LATEX GLOVES....it REALLY helps. Haha. I have even wrapped my hands in plastic shopping bags. Hi Sherri!!! That was definitely the vibe I got from the area I was in 😆 it was absolutely beautiful...but I knew I had ventured far beyond the city limits. I really believe that setting a good foundation for a DIY is key, it’s the minor details in prep work that set apart a DIY from a DI-WHY 😂 I’m so glad you enjoyed them...I think they are so unique but definitely didn’t anticipate they’d be 100 lbs. so now I’m trying to figure out where to place them permanently. You know how we do, always looking for something to make another find work!

Dearest Beau... To save time and expense... It a simple 2 screws and and unscrew a couple of nuts to remove socket and neck hardware. Then spray parts away from base. Wonderful fine!

Hi Beau, your upcycle lamps are beautiful! They are comparable to $200+ lamps. It is something to be said about going with natural or organic items for a home! Scooped up your tips for buying lamp shades...need two for my (faux) Thrift Store base lamps. Also it is so nice of you to share some precautions when buying from such a media resource. Since I am a lot older...I am very skeptical to use them. Keep doing what you do!

Thank you, Edna! I really loved them for that reason alone - they were natural, timeless, and something I could see myself revamping from time to time with new shades. Facebook Marketplace is great, but as you’ve said, it can be intimidating to use (it was for me as well!) so I try to be responsible and set myself up for as safe a situation as possible. I always recommend going with someone else if possible. Never alone unless it’s in a public meeting space and never ever at night! Be well, my friend ☺️

Those lamps are fabulous! And I really love them next to the mirror. I'm going to start searching FB Marketplace tonight. I ordered a modern cube lamp from Overstock and received it today, smashed into a million pieces. AAAUUUGGG. They are refunding me, but I am still stuck lamp-less for my table.
