I understand that Bergin is one of the wettest towns in Norway. The weather Gods have been kind to you 🙂

Simply wonderful scenery! The double waterfall at Latefosse was very impressive and looked to be a real force of nature....what a place to ride a motorcycle! Thanks - much enjoyed.

Nice stuff this week. That vertigo inducing peak at the end was worth the wait!! Was suprised by how many amazing waterfalls you passed but then remembered those type of falls are a feature of glaciation, which obviously has shaped much of the landscpae there. Thanks again for the ride along.

Many thanks Jonathan, and thinking about it, I'm sure you're right about the waterfalls. Thanks for sticking around to the end, the views from the rock were fabulous. Nick

Stunning ride, the views are great, hope you are truly enjoying your cb500x, I'm from Alberta Canada, purchased mine 6 months ago and really enjoy it so far, it's been really enjoyable off road as well. Great video.

Good morning Nick (at least it’s morning here on the East coast of the USA). Thanks for sharing another video of a beautiful riding day. Had to chuckle at our comment about rain on your trips. You could add a land of tunnels and ferries to the title. The campsite at the end of this video looks more peaceful than the others you have stayed at so far. Looking forward to next week’s adventure. Cheers, Jim

Good day Jim (covers us both 😊 ), I was just soooo lucky with the weather for a very high percentage of the trip, managed to shake off the "rain magnet" mantel I felt I was previously. Plenty more tunnels and ferries to come! The campsite was lovely, chatted to a chap from Germany using sign language and facial expressions as neither of us could speak the other's language, it was great fun. Not sure if you could make out his tent in the image at the end, it was one of those "coffin" affairs... lightweight, compact but must be claustrophobic! Nick

Gorgeous scenery. You seem to have gone left at Odda and then up along Hardangerfjord, which is a stunning ride. You could have also gone straight along Sørfjorden and then west after Kinsarvik towards Bergen on the E16, which is a favorite route of mine. In that part of Norway there are no wrong turns - everywhere is beautiful. Very glad you got in Preikestolen on such a beautiful day.

Hi Phil, thanks and so many options in such a beautiful part of the world and yes, the weather was perfect for Preikestolen which I must admit was a bit tougher than I thought it would be, but worth it! Nick

Looking over the edge of the Preikestolen is quite something...definitely a once only! I did a very similar trip to yours back in 2008 but only as far as the Arctic Circle, but like you I had wonderful weather. I guess my memories may not have been so good had the weather been ‘normal’

Did the trip from Bergen to Boda in 1978. In a Triumph Spitfire! The scenery is stunning but we loved it the further North we went as , in the end, we tired of the fjords! Love your videos though.

Thanks for the great video's, I've been following your whole trip and the views are stunning. One small point of cronstructive critisism: your audio is somewhat bass heavy, making your voice difficult to understand at times. You might want to tune the audio a bit to lower the bass and enhance the treble levels. Thanks for sharing your journey and happy riding 👍🏻

Many thanks for your positive comment and suggestion. I have experimented with the sound during edit and cannot seem to get it right sometimes I am more successful than others, but generally it takes too much time for very varied results, so, apologies for the quality hope it doesn't distract too much Nick

What a stunning trip, the entire stretch of road comes with marvellous scenery. I could watch another 25 minutes of this very easily. That a bit of a free for all when boarding that ferry, but it seemed to work out fine. Looking forward to next weeks video already.

Many thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it, I don't have the words or video skills to capture the beauty, not just the views but sounds, smells and temperature all come into play. With the "right" weather there are countless beautiful places in the world, and this one ranks very highly in my own experiences. Nick

Hi Nick, great video, thank you. Norway should be top of every bikers list of places to go. Good weather makes it just perfect. Is that an extra USB charging point on the throttle side of your handlebars ? and does the bike have the OEM charge point on the left side of the dash ?
@bikingtravels
@bikingtravels Жыл бұрын
Many thanks, and yes it is a double USB charge point I routed towards the battery, there is an accessory point hidden under the fairings near the headlamp but I took the lazy option. Nick

Wonderful scenery and narrative as to your high standard! Can I ask is the loading of the ferry a free for all ? Looked like bid Lorries up middle and rest file in around? Finally how is the Honda CB500X performing? I note that you have added a lot more ridged platforms to tie and store luggage and items on. Looks more stable on the road or is that the tyres . The previous trips have been wrongful and I always look forward to you next update! Best Regards Jim

@bikingtravels
@bikingtravels Жыл бұрын
Many thanks for the comment and question Jim. This ferry loading was unlike any others, all the rest were very controlled. Regarding luggage, I fitted Outback Motortek Pannier rack and Rear rack (including exhaust heat shield) which made a huge difference to the luggage mounting and confidence in not burning a hole in the pannier! And the Honda performed flawlessly. Nick
