In 2003 my wife was trying to leave Bread Garden in West Van and my baby daughter was kicking up a fuss. A woman came up and said, "let me hold her so you can gather your things." My wife handed my daughter to her and as she let go of her she realized it was Sarah! My daughter has been held by the woman who wrote "Arms of an Angel!"

She's lovely and super down to earth. A few years ago I was working at a luxury furniture store in Vancouver and approached a kind looking woman in the showroom who had arrived with her daughter, and immediately recognized it was Sarah! I'm not one for treating people differently based on their social status (people are all just people really, you know?) so I just helped her browse the sofas, and couldn't resist asking where she'd bought her pretty summer dress from. So that was fun, and at any rate I can report she's as solid and real and kind as the rest of us Canadians!

She’s changed her priorities from just her incredible career to take a different path and live her life her way. She’s smart to do that in taking a break from the road and touring too much. The road can be dangerous and taxing to one’s mind and health. It’s killed many musicians who got caught up in the excess and partying all night and sleeping all day. And drinking and drug use can kill and has ended the lives of many musicians. She’s wise to save herself from those minefields! Great to see her doing so well. She’s blessed with talent and natural beauty! Good Interview! Thanks Q!

I was in college when I listened to "Surfacing" for the first time and it defined my college years. Every song on it is powerful, but they are even more so now that I am an older adult. My mother was a big fan of Sarah's, too, and she passed away last year. Listening to Sarah McLachlan reminds me of how my mom and I used to listen to her in the car together and how I thought a breakup was the greatest heartache I would ever suffer.

Sarah sounded phenomenal and the band was CRISP. It was a total joy!

Good interview. Glad Sarah is making a new album. She hit the nail on the head for me about why “Fumbling Towards Ecstasy” was such a success and was so good. It was a transitional period of my life. I ended a 17-year relationship and came out of the closet. During this time, I listened to music by Rob Zombie, Creed, and Sarah and Delerium. Sarah’s writing and musical acumen are unique and what makes her such a great artist. During this time, I too really looked for and listened to entire albums. And it is becoming a lost art to create a complete body of musical work in an entire album. It’s still what I look for when I seek out and buy music. Can’t wait to hear Sarah’s new work.

Possession is a masterpiece & humans are emotional and can go to the extreme. Its not like she's super stunning of a woman - so getting that and being able to transcribe it or capture it plus amplify the emotion.. its something to 'celebrate' - its one of those songs that takes you somewhere. Guys feel that way in life its biological - but maladaptive to modern life.
